By refusing to settle, you can help redefine what’s possible and shape the future of mobility.\nStaff Systems Engineer, HV Battery Software \nRole Overview\nWe are currently seeking a Staff Systems Engineer, High Voltage Battery Software to drive development and integration of Lucid’s proprietary Battery Management System (BMS) software. In this role, you will bridge the gap between early-stage prototypes and global production releases, ensuring our energy storage and powertrain systems operate with maximum safety, efficiency, and performance. \nThis position sits at the intersection of embedded software, power electronics hardware and vehicle network architecture. You will collaborate with engineers across systems engineering, hardware, controls, and verification and validation to perform complex architecture studies and drive architecture decisions, develop robust system requirements and drive hardware and software improvements for current and future Lucid vehicles. \n Our ideal candidate exhibits a proactive, can-do attitude and approaches their work systematically and diligently. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection in a fast-paced environment. \nRole responsibilities:\nPerform functional decomposition to translate complex vehicle-level requirements intoclear, verifiable, and traceableBMS and energy storage requirements \nPerform system analysis and simulations to architect robust, scalable BMS frameworks and propose concept of operationsto cross-functional teams \nCollaborate with safety and reliability teams to perform FMEA, FTA and safety analysis to enable development of fault-tolerant embedded systems capable of real-time, safety-critical execution. \nDefineverification procedure andclear PASS/FAILcriteriafor requirement verification and work closely with V&V teams to successfully complete integration testing andguarantee release quality. \nLeverage large-scale telemetry and fleet-health analytics to proactively monitorbattery performance, diagnose anomalies, and triage complex field issues. \nDevelop, validate, and rapidly deploy OTA software mitigations to resolve field anomalies and continuously improve battery safety and longevity. \nOwn configuration management, versioning, and release processes to ensure reproducible, auditable, and compliant deliveries. \nWhat you bring: \nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a technical related field is required. Master's degree or higher education is preferred. \n7+ years of experiencein the field of BMS developmentorEnergy Storage Systemsdeveloping embeddedhardware andsoftware for safety-critical, real-time systems \nDeep understanding ofBattery Management Systems, including cell modeling, state estimation (SoC/SoH/SOP), cell balancing, and fault diagnostics \nDemonstrated ability to translate high-level system requirements into low-level embedded hardware and softwarerequirements \nProficiencywith requirement management process and experience with using at least one requirement management tool such as JAMA, Polarion, or 3DX \nProven experience with cross-functional software integration, configuration management, and automated Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing frameworks \nProficiencyanalyzing large-scale vehicle telemetry data (Python, SQL, or MATLAB/Simulink) to drive engineering decisions \nWays to stand out:\nExperience with Model Based Systems Engineering methodologyand tools suchas Cameo, System Composer, etc. \nExperience shipping OTA update pipelines for embedded/automotive systems at fleet scale \nHands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink model-based design and auto-code generation for real-time targets \nFamiliarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262/ASIL) and automotive cybersecurity (ISO 21434) \nExperience with vehicle communication protocols and measurement data (CAN, CAN-FD, UDS, and isoSPI) \nFamiliarity with AUTOSAR architecture and its application in modern automotive software platforms \nExperience with data pipelines and fleet-analytics tooling for anomaly detection and root-cause analysis \nProficiencyin git tools and CI/CD for embedded software and automated regression testing \nSalary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.\nBase Pay Range (Annual)\n$164,600—$241,450 USD\nCompensation& Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.
