We’re combining AI, learning science, and great product design to create a new kind of language-learning experience.\nBacked by top-tier investors ($8M raised) and used by millions of learners globally, we’re looking for a Learning Experience Designer to help us design how people actually learn with Lucida.\nWhat you’ll do\nDesign engaging, effective, and personalized learning experiences for AI-powered English learning\nTurn language-learning principles into interactive conversations, lessons, exercises, and feedback experiences\nDesign learning journeys across different CEFR levels (A1-C1)\nCreate conversation scenarios, roleplays, learning activities, and progression systems that help users improve their speaking skills\nWork closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and AI teams to bring learning experiences from idea to production\nUse learning science, user behavior, and data to understand what helps users learn better\nDesign and iterate on AI tutor behaviors, prompts, conversation flows, and feedback mechanisms\nExperiment with different learning approaches and use A/B tests and learner data to measure their impact\nIdentify where learners struggle and design better ways to explain, practice, and reinforce language concepts\nBuild scalable frameworks and systems that allow us to create high-quality learning experiences with AI\nContinuously improve the balance between learning effectiveness, engagement, and motivation\nRequirements\n2+ years of experience in Learning Design, Instructional Design, Curriculum Design, Language Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field\nStrong understanding of second-language acquisition and learning science\nExperience designing learning experiences for digital products, apps, or online education\nStrong understanding of English language learning and teaching\nAbility to turn complex educational concepts into simple, engaging user experiences\nComfortable working with data, experimentation, and user feedback\nStrong product sense and curiosity about how people learn and behave\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills\nExcited about the potential of AI in education\nHigh ownership, fast execution, and a willingness to experiment and iterate\nBonus points\nExperience with AI-powered learning products\nExperience designing AI tutor or conversational learning experiences\nFamiliarity with CEFR, TOEFL, IELTS, or other language proficiency frameworks\nBackground in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, SLA, Learning Sciences, or Educational Technology\nExperience with prompt design or human-in-the-loop AI workflows\nExperience working on consumer-facing mobile products\nExperience with gamification or habit-forming learning experiences\nBenefits\nWhy Lucida AI?\nBacked by top-tier investors -
