Linking energy generation to consumption, the business specialises in high-performance medium and low-voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications.\nJob Context:\nYou will work as part of a highly skilled Engineering division supporting all aspects of HV services to our clients and customers. As part of our team you will get to both support your peers in the delivery of HV engineering and also be required to lead projects when called on. We strive forwards as a team advancing our technical skills, knowledge, and competencies together, whilst ensuring a flexible work life balance is worked into our ethos.\nJob Dimensions:\nYou will be working with a team of skilled HV Engineers, SAP’s and supporting staff across all aspects of the HV industry. The role is home based with travel to site works included within your working day. The core hours are 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 am to 12:00 Friday, depending on operational work and site requirements additional hours will be required. Opportunities to support additional overtime through evenings, weekends and travel abroad are also frequently available.\nKey Accountabilities:\nThese will include:\nLead the delivery of a range of major projects through to smaller day works. This could cover a range of activities from CDM construction projects, HV asset maintenance, repairs, upgrades, to Lucy Product support.\n\nPlan outages, produce switching programmes and other safety paperwork for HV switching activities.\n\nAssess safety and apply controls and safety measures required.\n\nCompleting RAMS, job packs, test certificates and reports.\n\nFacilitate a safe working environment during high / low voltage working.\n\nInstallation, refurbishment, maintenance of HV equipment.\n\nInterpret electrical drawings and records.\n\nCarry out electrical testing and fault finding.\n\nCarry out mechanical modifications and repairs.\n\nComplete assessment and completion reports.\n\nSchedule and coordinate site work with a range of engineers, sub-contractors, and utilities companies.\n\nAssist in the management job costing, material specifications and logistics.\n\nMaintain Senior Authorised Person competence.\n\nEnsure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lucy Electric and its customers.\n\nMaintain all authorisations in accordance with legislative our safety procedures and industry best practice.\n\nLiaise closely with team to understand and manage priorities.\n\nAttend training and continuous development opportunities as required.\n\nDesirable:\nElectrical commissioning.\n\nFault finding.\n\nTraining.\n\nQualifications, Experience & Skills:\nProven track record of experience in the Electrical and/or distribution Industry.\n\nHolds full SAP Authorisation including sanction for test - UKPN, SSEN, other DNO\n\nCertified in electricity at work and experience of delivering efficient and effective services to customers whether on site or at a planning stage from an office environment.\n\nGood knowledge of H&S and its practical implications.\n\nGood knowledge of Distribution Safety rules and their application.\n\nComputer literate - skilled in MS office\n\nTechnically qualified with a BTEC, C&G or equivalent apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering\n\nFull driver’s License, willingness to travel and work weekends as overtime or with a day off in the week.\n\nDesirable: \nHave, or held authorisations - Private Networks, UKPN, WPD or other DNO\n\nTraining - first aid, IPAF, PASMA, SMSTS\n\n18th edition / 2391 inspection & testing\n\nMentoring of trainees.\n\nWillingness to work weekends and call outs.\n\nBehavioural Competencies: \nGood interpersonal skills with a pleasant and can-do attitude.\n\nHighly organised and tidy.\n\nMust have a positive and confident approach to tasks.\n\nGood problem-solving skills.\n\nAble to work independently, within/ or leading a team.\n\n Key Accountabilities:\nThese will include:\nLead the delivery of a range of major projects through to smaller day works.
