Answers telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.\n\nMaintain customer/patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and company requirements.\n\nMaintains respectful relationships with coworkers.\n\nProcess prescriptions including translation of written directions, product selection, counting and measuring medications, placing medication into dispensing container, and labeling container.\n\nResolve third party claim rejections by making necessary telephone calls and complete any manual claim forms.\n\nPerform register transactions in adherence to policy and procedures, including cash, check and charge transactions.\n\nPrepare medications upon completion of transaction for dispensing at the counter or for shipping to rural clinic(s).\n\nPerform all prescription pick-up procedures, including documentation in Prescription Pick-Up Log, validation of customer address.\n\nOffer patient counseling as required by law.\n\nComply with federal and state laws, rules and regulations.\n\nComply with company policies and procedures.\n\nFile and process prescriptions in accordance with federal and state laws.\n\nMaintain an organized and clean working environment.\n\nOperate computer software to enter, process and retrieve prescription information.\n\nPerform duties of front store operations, filling prescriptions, and shipping services.\n\nFile medication invoices, including controlled substance invoices, as required by law and directed by pharmacist-in-charge.\n\nAssist with maintaining adequate inventory by utilizing replenishment reports and procedures.\n\nRemove expired or damaged medications on a monthly basis.\n\nAssists and supports inventory management by ordering, unpacking, checking and storing received medication shipments.\n\nMaintain good relationship with clinic management and clinical staff.\n\nComplete are required training programs as scheduled and at least annually.\n\nMaintain proper medication storage conditions and maintain temperature logs as required.\n\nPerform prescription billing requirements for different payors, including commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare-D.\n\nPerforms other duties and tasks as assigned by pharmacist-in-charge.\n\nMaintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest medication or pharmacy law information.\n\nQualifications and Education Requirements\nHigh school graduate. Preference will be given to individuals who have college credits.\n\nHolds an active license in good standing from the Texas Board of Pharmacy.\n\nCurrent certification by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).\n\nMinimum of one year of practice in retail, ambulatory, or hospital outpatient settings.\n\nPreferences\nExcellent oral communication skills to communicate with prescribers and patients.\n\nDemonstrates courteous and professional customer service skills.\n\nDemonstrates current knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations that pertain to scope of practice.\n\nDemonstrates computer skills necessary to process and dispense prescription medications.\n\nUnderstand quality control procedures and confidentiality requirements.\n\nProficient in MS Word and Excel software.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nWhat We Do\nLucyRx is an independent, next-generation pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) transforming how healthcare works.
