This position will have direct involvement with the DOT compliance department. In addition, the candidate will also be responsible for all facets of DOT regulatory compliance including auditing of and compliance to all DOT regulatory functions across all lines of business. This candidate will represent the company at industry organizations/functions and will be responsible for the implementation of regulatory changes at Puerto Rico and Federal levels.Job Description:\nResponsible for assisting the Manager of Training, OQ, Department of Transportation & Safety Administration in ensuring compliance in driver qualification and maintenance of DOT-required compliance records for all commercial drivers.\n\nCompliance Safety Accountability (CSA) score monitoring and reporting.\n\nResponsible for uploading completed employee paperwork to DQ database.\n\nMaintain a working knowledge of DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.\n\nMonitor and maintain all Hours of Service records. Manage and maintain all Driver Qualification Files in a secure and confidential manner. Review and process all driver qualification documentation for accuracy and completeness. Track all driver credentials and send renewal notification reports to Operations.\n\nConduct new driver training. Complete all driver safety performance history checks.\n\nFacilitate Management Review Calls for failed driver/vehicle inspections.\n\nPerforms customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions with the departmental phone and communications systems.\n\nCompose DOT-related regulatory communications. Generate, review, and distribute reports on a designated basis. Other clerical duties and special projects as assigned.\n\nMaintains confidentiality of all employee and company information.\n\nWell-developed communication, interpersonal skills, customer service and problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task.\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office: including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\n\nAbility to adjust to changing priorities and circumstances, operate independently, self-manage projects and job assignments, prioritize workflow to meet timelines.\n\nPerform safety inspections such as DOT, regulations, and others(complete the entire process from start to finish.)\n\nPerform interventions and provide the required documentation.\n\nConduct relevant formalities with government agencies.\n\nFollow all policies and procedures .\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nPerform major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.\n\nAdditional Job Description:\nEducation\nAssociate degree and 5 years of experience performing inspection in DOT OR Associate degree in business administration or related field and Licensed Mechanic and 5 years of experience performing inspection in DOT.\n\nExperience\nTwo to five years of related experience or familiar with American National Standards Institutional regulations and Department of Transportation regulations.\n\nOffice professional or departmental support role experience\n\nLicense/Certifications\nValid driver's license with a clean driving record\n\nCertification of Annual DOT Inspection is preferred.\n\nTravel Requirements\n30%\n\nPhysical Demands\nStationary Position: Frequently\n\nPushing/ Pulling/ Reaching: Seldom\n\nClimb: Seldom\n\nKneel: Seldom\n\nGrab: Seldom\n\nBend: Seldom\n\nLift/ Carry over: 10-30 LBS\n\nVision: Vision acuity to operate vehicle\n\nHearing: Receive detailed information if spoken to\n\nWorking Conditions\nWet or humid: Seldom\n\nWorking near or on moving mechanical parts: Seldom\n\nWorking near or on heavy machinery: Seldom\n\nWorking in high places: N/A\n\nExposed to fumes or airborne particles: N/A\n\nExposed to toxic or caustic chemicals: N/A\n\nFrequency of working in outdoor weather conditions: Seldom\n\nWork with electricity: N/A\n\nWork with explosives: N/A\n\nWork on or near a source of radiation: N/A\n\nLoud Noise conditions (above 87 db): Seldom\n\nOther environmental factors including weather conditions:\n\nOther:\n\nLUMA Energy is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
