This role supports continuous operations by quickly resolving network disruptions, maintaining infrastructure health, and coordinating with technical teams to protect essential services.Job Description:\nMonitors, reviews, and resolves network alarms and connectivity issues to maintain high network reliability and service continuity.\n\nMonitors telecom backbone equipment across telecom sites, substations, control centers, and data centers to ensure stable and secure network operations.\n\nMonitor network traffic, prioritizes incidents, and directs Telecom field technicians to faults to restore service in a timely manner.\n\nProvisions new circuits for substations, SCADA systems, corporate data, voice services, and teleprotection to support operational and business requirements.\n\nMonitors carrier services, including microwave radio and fiber links, to verify functionality and provide reporting that ensures carrier performance compliance.\n\nEnsures redundancy and route diversity across critical systems and applications to safeguard against single-point failures.\n\nTroubleshoots IP services and networks to identify root causes and implement corrective actions that improve network performance.\n\nMonitors company networks proactively and responds to operational issues to uphold network availability.\n\nAnnounces service schedules to network users to support transparent communication and minimize operational impact.\n\nCreates operational and performance reporting to support management visibility and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nFollows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.\n\nParticipates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.\n\nPerforms additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.\n\nAdditional Job Description:\nEducation\nAssociate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nExperience\n3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC), telecom operations, or network support role\n\nHands-on experience monitoring and troubleshooting LAN/WAN environments, IP networks, and telecom backbone systems\n\nExperience working with telecom carrier technologies such as microwave radio, fiber transport, TDM, SONET, and MPLS\n\nPrior experience coordinating with field technicians and working within incident, change, and ticketing systems\n\nExperience working in fast-paced, 24/7 operational environments is preferred\n\nCompetencies (Skills)\nProficiency in Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, LAN/WAN networking, TDM, SONET, MPLS, and telecom carrier equipment\n\nStrong network monitoring and diagnostic skills\n\nExpertise in troubleshooting IP-based services and complex network environments\n\nIncident management and prioritization skills\n\nClear communication and customer support capabilities\n\nStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities\n\nExperience with documentation and reporting\n\nLicenses/Certifications\nAny of the following will be preferred:\nCompTIA Network+\n\nMicrowave Radio Certification (Motorola, Nokia, Cambium, or Harris)\n\nNERC System Operator Awareness Certification\n\nTravel Requirements\n20%\n\nPhysical Demands:\nStationary Position: Frequently\n\nPushing/ Pulling/ Reaching: Seldom\n\nKneel: Seldom\n\nGrab: Occasionally\n\nBend: Seldom\n\nLift/Carry over: 36 to 50 pounds\n\nVision: 20/20 corrected vision\n\nWorking Conditions:\nWet or humid: Seldom\n\nWorking near or on moving mechanical parts: Seldom\n\nWorking near or on heavy machinery: Seldom\n\nWorking in high places: Seldom\n\nExposed to fumes or airborne particles: Seldom\n\nFrequency of working in outdoor weather conditions: Seldom\n\nWork with electricity: Seldom\n\nLoud noise conditions: Seldom\n\nLUMA Energy is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
