Reporting to the Head of Accounting, this is a hands-on role at the intersection of accounting, finance operations, and systems.\nA primary value driver of this role is cash: you will own collections and be accountable for converting receivables to cash quickly and predictably. You'll also own AP strategy, continued system setup, and ongoing system maintenance, building out the function in Ramp with a Staff Accountant supporting day-to-day AP operations.The right candidate has a builder mindset and enjoys turning complex, manual, or undefined processes into scalable, well-controlled workflows and audit-ready workpapers. You'll use AI tools, including Claude, to automate recurring work and continuously improve how the Accounting team operates.\n\nWhat you'll do:\nCollections & Accounts Receivable\nOwn and actively manage AR and collections as a core day-to-day responsibility, including billing and invoicing, monitoring AR aging, driving customer follow-up, resolving overdue balances and payment issues, and ensuring timely cash application.\nDrive improvements in cash collection and AR performance by establishing effective collection cadences, tracking key metrics, and partnering closely with Sales and Customer Success to resolve disputes and accelerate payment.\nBe accountable for AR performance, including DSO, aging by bucket, past-due balances, and cash forecast accuracy, reported regularly to Finance leadership.\nBuild direct relationships with customer AP and procurement contacts to resolve billing questions, portal and PO issues, and payment blockers before they delay cash.\nEstablish credit and collections policies, including customer credit review, payment terms, hold and escalation criteria, and bad debt reserve methodology.\nAutomate collections workflows with AI and AR tooling, including dunning sequences, invoice delivery and portal submission, and payment reminders.\nAccounts Payable & Purchasing\nOwn the overall AP and purchasing function, including the strategy, systems, processes, and controls needed to scale with the business.\nPartner closely with the Staff Accountant, who runs point on day-to-day AP processing; provide reviewer-level oversight of invoice coding, approvals, payment runs, vendor setup, and 1099 compliance.\nBuild and improve scalable purchasing controls and workflows, including vendor onboarding, PO requesting, open PO management, and purchase accruals.\nLead the transition from Teampay to Ramp and own Ramp's buildout across bill pay, purchasing, approval workflows, virtual cards, and vendor management.\nOwn and continuously improve Ramp and its integration with NetSuite, including workflows, GL mappings, automation, troubleshooting, and ensuring complete and accurate data flow into the GL.\nSystems & AI\nOwn maintenance of AP systems (Ramp), AR/Revenue systems (currently Maxio), Sales Tax (Avalara), and their integrations to NetSuite.\nLeverage AI tools, including Claude, to turn recurring work (contract and invoice review, coding, reconciliations, flux analysis, audit support) into documented, reusable workflows with appropriate review points and controls.\nRevenue & Sales Tax\nOwn monthly revenue recognition under ASC 606, including contract review, revenue schedules, deferred revenue roll-forwards, and related reporting.\nOwn sales tax reporting and compliance, including coordination with third-party tax providers and resolution of sales tax issues.\nContinuously improve and scale revenue and AR processes through AI and automation, standardizing workflows, reducing manual work, and building repeatable processes and controls. Once onboarded, lead the transition from Maxio to a new revenue and AR platform, including a NetSuite integration built to scale with revenue growth.\nMonth-End Close & Audit\nSupport with key areas of the monthly close, including revenue, AR, AP, COGS, prepaids, fixed assets, and leases, with related balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and supporting workpapers.\nBuild and maintain audit-ready workpapers that clearly support account balances, key judgments, and conclusions.\nFor areas you own, prepare audit schedules and serve as a primary contact for external auditors.\nDocument and maintain processes and internal controls for each area you own.\nAbout you:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus.\n5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting/audit with operational accounting at a high-growth company.\nStrong US GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606 and ASC 842.\nHands-on experience owning collections and AR with measurable results (e.g., reduced DSO or past-due balances); comfortable on the phone and in customer AP portals.\nExperience owning revenue operations and overseeing AP and purchasing.\nExperience preparing audit-ready workpapers and working directly with external auditors.\nExperience administering finance systems and GL integrations;
