The Role

Ready to launch your career in telecommunications and network infrastructure? As a Field Technician I, you will receive hands-on training while supporting fiber-based network services, customer installations, data center environments, and colocation facilities across the Dallas-Fort Worth market. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with technology, solving problems, and operating independently in the field. You will be equipped with the tools, training, and support needed to build a long-term career in a growing technical industry.

The Main Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and support fiber-based network services for commercial customers.

• Perform fiber cross-connects, equipment installations, and basic troubleshooting activities.

• Support customer installations in enterprise, data center, and colocation environments.

• Respond to service tickets and assist with identifying and resolving network issues.

• Complete rack-and-stack activities and cable management tasks as assigned.

• Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures while working independently in the field.

• Participate in on-call rotations and support after-hours maintenance activities when required.Collaborate with team members and customers to deliver reliable service and a positive customer experience.

• Understands that basics of installation/change/decommissioning/testing of transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers for all available bandwidths offered.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years of relevant job experience including 1+ years network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.

• Ability to work onsite throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work overtime, occasional weekends, and participate in on-call rotations after training.

• On-call 24x7 on a rotational basis, on stand-by, call out, dispatch, and overtime are required as dictated by the business.
• A valid driver’s license
• Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift 50 lbs.; works in all weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a Field Technician, Fiber Technician, Data Center Technician, Cable Technician, Installation Technician, Network Technician, or similar role.

• Exposure to fiber optic infrastructure, installation, testing, or troubleshooting.

• Experience with rack-and-stack activities and equipment deployments.

• Experience supporting commercial customers, data centers, or colocation facilities.

• Familiarity with telecommunications tools, testing equipment, and structured cabling.

• Technical certification, trade school education, community college training, military technical experience, or other hands-on technical training.Mechanical, electrical, utility, infrastructure, or customer installation experience.

• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and field environments

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$45,021 - $60,027 in these states: TX
