As a Field Technician I, you will receive hands-on training while supporting fiber-based network services, customer installations, data center environments, and colocation facilities across the Dallas-Fort Worth market. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with technology, solving problems, and operating independently in the field. You will be equipped with the tools, training, and support needed to build a long-term career in a growing technical industry.\nThe Main Responsibilities\nInstall, maintain, and support fiber-based network services for commercial customers.\n\nPerform fiber cross-connects, equipment installations, and basic troubleshooting activities.\n\nSupport customer installations in enterprise, data center, and colocation environments.\n\nRespond to service tickets and assist with identifying and resolving network issues.\n\nComplete rack-and-stack activities and cable management tasks as assigned.\n\nFollow safety, quality, and operational procedures while working independently in the field.\n\nParticipate in on-call rotations and support after-hours maintenance activities when required.Collaborate with team members and customers to deliver reliable service and a positive customer experience.\n\nUnderstands that basics of installation/change/decommissioning/testing of transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers for all available bandwidths offered.\nWhat We Look For in a Candidate\nRequired:\nHigh School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years of relevant job experience including 1+ years network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.\nAbility to work onsite throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.\n\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\n\nStrong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n\nAbility to work overtime, occasional weekends, and participate in on-call rotations after training.\n\nOn-call 24x7 on a rotational basis, on stand-by, call out, dispatch, and overtime are required as dictated by the business.\nA valid driver’s license\nSit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift 50 lbs.; works in all weather conditions\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience as a Field Technician, Fiber Technician, Data Center Technician, Cable Technician, Installation Technician, Network Technician, or similar role.\n\nExposure to fiber optic infrastructure, installation, testing, or troubleshooting.\n\nExperience with rack-and-stack activities and equipment deployments.\n\nExperience supporting commercial customers, data centers, or colocation facilities.\n\nFamiliarity with telecommunications tools, testing equipment, and structured cabling.\n\nTechnical certification, trade school education, community college training, military technical experience, or other hands-on technical training.Mechanical, electrical, utility, infrastructure, or customer installation experience.\n\nDemonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and field environments\n\nCompensation\nThis information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.
