The Lead Network Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring network solutions consistently achieve the highest standards of quality, reliability, operational excellence, and business value while supporting the organization's long-term growth and transformation objectives.\nLocation\nThis position is out of the office 5325 Zuni ST, Denver, CO\nThe Main Responsibilities\nManiacal focus on a customer obsessed culture with every team member being comfortable being uncomfortable as bold innovations position Lumen for continue industry-firsts \nBe customer obsessed and be vulnerable - be willing to learn from employees and customers to operationalize innovative technologies that deliver the best-connected experience. \nDemonstrated high command for the skills and technology related to Core & Access equipment (OSI model, IP, Routing, Switching, Security, ITU standards, RFCs, etc.) \nSubject Matter Expert level experience with Ethernet, IP Routing, MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, LLDP, Layer 2/3 services, Ethernet Transport, Dark/Grey Fiber. \nStrong testing experience and understanding of Fiber modes & Optical Test methodologies (SMF/MMF/DWDM/CWDM/Dark Fiber/Grey Fiber/SFP/QSFP) \nExperience with API testing, network automation, server deployment, Linux administration, and scripting using Python, PowerShell, and Bash. \nExperience using Spirent, Keysight, Calient, and other carrier-grade network test platforms. \nAble to design & Implement test cases and build test plans \nHistory of troubleshooting defects to identify a root cause \nClear and concise communicator, written and verbal \nUnderstanding of testing methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps \nAtlassian Jira experience \nWhat We Look For in a Candidate\nBS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science,Telecommunications, or related field required or equivalent work experience\nMS in same fields preferred or equivalent work experience\n5-8 years of experience in Computer Networking, 5-8 years of experience in Testing/Troubleshooting\nExtensive experience with Metro Ethernet Networking, IP Routing and Switching, MPLS, 100G/400G optics, DWDM/CWDM\nExperience validating solutions across Cisco, Ciena, Adtran, ADVA, Nokia, Juniper, Axon, and other networking platforms.\nStrong working knowledge of Metro Ethernet architectures including Rings, Aggregators, Concentrators, and Access Networks.\nThorough experience using Linux/Bash/PowerShell/Python and familiarity with REST APIs and network telemetry and knowledgeable in Ethernet and Fiber testing and performance levels.\nExperience leading projects and being a subject matter expert\nWell-versed in test lab operations\nSkilled in troubleshootingIdeally have one or more of: CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, CWNP, CCIE, JNCIE, CISSP, CEH, OSCP ACSA, MS certs (Power, Azure, Security\n\nCompensation\nThis information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data.
