Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, this role oversees projects from estimating and design through construction, acceptance, and operational handoff.\nYou will bring together internal teams, engineering firms, contractors, and vendors to deliver reliable fiber infrastructure that supports customers and communities. This is an opportunity to take ownership of high-impact projects, solve complex deployment challenges, and help build the network capabilities customers rely on today and in the future.\nLocation\nThis is a work from home position within the U.S.\nThe Main Responsibilities\nDevelop and review comprehensive project plans, including phased delivery, resource requirements, schedules, costs, risks, governance, reporting, and capital and operating budgets.\nLead cross-functional teams of engineers, construction managers, contractors, consultants, and internal business partners through project planning and execution.\nEstablish clear vendor accountabilities and drive contractors to meet quality standards, project milestones, and aggressive delivery timelines.\nOversee network architecture, construction methodologies, material selection, acquisition, handling, field installation, testing, and project acceptance.\nDeliver assigned projects within approved scope, schedule, and budget.\nEstablish performance metrics, monitor progress against project plans, and provide frequent status updates to stakeholders.\nIdentify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and resolve issues affecting construction or delivery.\nCoordinate customer and operational handoffs to support successful network deployment and ongoing operations.\nWhat We Look For in a Candidate\nMinimum\nBachelor’s degree or at least five years of relevant professional experience.\nKnowledge of Outside Plant engineering standards, practices, and construction methods.\nExperience with aerial and underground telecommunications construction, including boring, trenching, duct installation, fiber pulling, and overpulling.\nExperience across the full life cycle of Outside Plant or civil construction projects, including estimating, engineering, permitting, and construction.\nExperience leading vendors, contractors, or cross-functional project teams.\nStrong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project skills, with experience using mapping applications.\nStrong organizational, prioritization, written communication, and verbal communication skills.\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining schedule, scope, budget, and quality expectations.\nPreferred\nExperience with civil engineering and construction for site development.\nExperience in Outside Plant operations, administration, and maintenance.\nKnowledge of fiber network management, including route planning, fiber assignments, capacity management, splicing, testing, and power requirements.\nExperience managing strategic customer relationships.\nStrong business acumen and a record of building effective working relationships across technical and operational teams.\nCreative problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt priorities in a fast-moving environment.\nProfessional, accountable, and collaborative approach to project leadership.\nCompensation\nThis information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.
