The Maintenance Manager will drive a proactive maintenance culture, reduce equipment failures and ensure that all work is planned, controlled and completed to the required standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and manage the site maintenance team and maintenance contractors.\nDevelop and deliver the planned preventative maintenance programme.\nReduce reactive maintenance, repeat failures and unplanned downtime.\nEnsure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with site procedures.\nMaintain high standards across critical infrastructure, including:HVAC and cleanroom systems\nElectrical distribution and standby power systems\nUPS and DRUPS systems\nChillers, compressors and air-handling units\nUPW, CDA, nitrogen and vacuum systems\nFire, life-safety and emergency systems\nBuilding fabric and associated services\nBMS and control systems\n\nEnsure all statutory inspections, testing and certification are completed on time.\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, asset registers and compliance documentation.\nManage maintenance budgets, purchase orders, suppliers and contractor performance.\nEnsure all contractors are appropriately approved, inducted and controlled while on site.\nPlan and coordinate maintenance activities around production requirements, using Green-to-Green planning where applicable.\nEnsure all planned interruptions are properly assessed, communicated and approved.\nSupport investigations into equipment failures, incidents and near misses, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.\nLead root-cause analysis and continuous-improvement activities.\nWork closely with Production, Engineering, EHS, Quality, Facilities and Project teams.\nProvide clear weekly and monthly reports to the Senior WPS Manager.\nSupport capital projects, commissioning, handover and acceptance of new equipment and systems.\nEnsure maintenance strategies are suitable for the site’s future production ramp-up and business-continuity requirements.\nPromote strong housekeeping, safety ownership and professional standards across the maintenance function.\nHealth, Safety and Compliance\nThe Maintenance Manager will:\nEnsure compliance with Lumentum policies, statutory requirements and safe systems of work.\nMaintain effective permit-to-work, isolation and lockout/tagout controls.\nEnsure risk assessments and method statements are suitable and implemented.\nStop unsafe work and escalate significant risks immediately.\nSupport audits, inspections and compliance reviews.\nEnsure environmental, fire, electrical and statutory obligations are effectively managed.\nPerformance Measures\nSuccess in this role will be measured by:\nImproved asset reliability and availability.\nReduction in reactive maintenance and repeat failures.\nDelivery of the planned maintenance programme.\nReduced maintenance-related production interruptions.\nCompletion of statutory inspections and compliance actions on time.\nEffective contractor and supplier performance.\nAccurate maintenance records and reporting.\nDelivery of maintenance activities within budget.\nPositive feedback from production and site stakeholders.\nDemonstrable improvements in safety, housekeeping and maintenance standards.\nExperience and Qualifications\nEssential:\nProven experience managing maintenance activities within a complex industrial, manufacturing, laboratory or critical-environment facility.\nExperience managing multi-skilled engineering teams and contractors.\nStrong knowledge of planned preventative and condition-based maintenance.\nExperience with electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building-services systems.\nExperience of managing maintenance budgets, suppliers and service contracts.\nGood understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.\nAbility to plan work around operational and production constraints.\nStrong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.\nDesirable:\nExperience working in semiconductor, microelectronics, cleanroom, pharmaceutical or other high-reliability environments.\nExperience with CMMS or maintenance-management systems.\nElectrical, mechanical, facilities or building-services qualification.\nIOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.\nExperience supporting capital providers accountable for agreed performance.\nThe Maintenance Manager will remain accountable to the Senior WPS Manager for the safe, compliant, reliable and cost-effective delivery of site
