If shaping the future of connectivity excites you, you’ll fit right in.\nThe Opportunity\n12-16 months: January 2027 - April 2028\nPay Range: $24-35/hr\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nCoordinate, diagnose and troubleshoot incoming employee calls\nProvide support services to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop, laptop or network services from local personnel or from employees using network remote access\nEnsure key IT systems, hardware, services and processes are available\nProactively evaluate and monitor performance of key systems and processes to ensure continued business operations\nPhysical installation and maintenance of server and storage hardware\nCoordinate and communicate with leadership on proposed or implemented resolutions and changes\nMeet organizational SLA metrics\nWork with the global team as well as local stakeholders in the implementation and testing of new technologies and/or initiatives\nCollaborate with other IT and business teams on projects.\nProvide timely resolution of problems or escalation on behalf of customer to appropriate technical personnel\nDevelop, document, and implement standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines relating to IT support\nManage incidents and service requests in the ticketing system in accordance with service targets and support procedures.\nHelp users make effective use of supported technology and self-service resources.\nProvide case status updates to management and end-users\nWhat We’re Looking For\nEducation:\nCandidates must be currently enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution\nOpen to Bachelors, Masters, and PhD students in Computer Systems Technician or related fields.\nExperience:\nTechnical Skills:\nAdvanced Windows Desktop expertise is a must\nSome experience in support Windows Server (2008R2, 2012R2) environments is a must\nSome experience in supporting server environments and infrastructure is required\nSome experience in supporting Linux (RedHat/CentOS) environments is preferred\nSome background in understanding and supporting hypervisor technologies is a must (VMware)\nExperience supporting Microsoft 365 and Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID\nUnderstanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic network troubleshooting.\nKnowledge of infrastructure (SMTP, FTP, SFTP, ssh, DNS, DHCP) services is preferred\nExperience in automation of manual tasks is preferred\nBackup and restore technologies and practices is preferred\nCloud technology (Amazon, Google, Azure) is a plus\nFamiliarity with macOS support and mobile device management.\nWeb server experience (Apache, IIS) is a plus\nWorking knowledge of Virtualization (VMware) is a plus\nEnterprise Networking knowledge is a plus.\nKey Competencies:\nStrong language command of English \nExcellent oral/written abilities\nMentally flexible, agile and adaptable to rapid changes\nOutstanding customer service and positive attitude\nAnalytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\nIndependent thinker with a strong desire to learn new technologies, processes and take on new challenges\nClear written documentation and effective cross-team collaboration.\nDriven to solving issues at the root level.\nPerks You’ll Love\nFree parking\nFree gym\nCafeteria with subsidized meals and free coffee/tea\nPrayer room\nGames room\nCandidates must be eligible to complete a background check as part of the hiring process\nJoin a Team That’s Shaping the Future\nAt Lumentum, we’re more than just a workplace-we’re a launchpad for creativity and innovation.
