enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!\nPosition Summary\nLumentum is seeking a Program Manager to support manufacturing launch, transfer, qualification, and ramp activities at our Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners.\nThis role will coordinate cross-functional activities between Lumentum and the CM to ensure manufacturing equipment, materials, processes, documentation, resources, and qualification activities are ready to support production requirements.\nThe ideal candidate will have experience managing manufacturing programs, NPI, product transfers, or production ramps within an electronics, optical, semiconductor, or similar high-tech manufacturing environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage manufacturing launch, transfer, qualification, and ramp activities at Contract Manufacturing partners.\nDevelop and maintain integrated program schedules covering equipment, process readiness, materials, qualification builds, and production ramp.\nCoordinate activities across Lumentum Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Planning, and CM teams.\nTrack manufacturing readiness across key areas including:Equipment installation and qualification\nProcess development and validation\nMaterial readiness\nManufacturing documentation and work instructions\nTooling, fixtures, and test equipment\nOperator and engineering training\nProduction capacity and staffing\n\nDrive completion of qualification builds, engineering builds, and production readiness milestones.\nIdentify program risks, constraints, and schedule gaps and drive owners toward timely resolution.\nMaintain action-item, risk, and issue tracking with clear owners and due dates.\nCoordinate engineering support between Lumentum and CM teams during manufacturing bring-up and troubleshooting.\nSupport capacity planning and equipment readiness against production demand.\nFacilitate regular program reviews and provide concise status updates to Operations leadership.\nEnsure manufacturing changes, deviations, and open issues are appropriately documented and closed before production ramp.\nSupport continuous improvement activities during early production and stabilization.\nQualifications:\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.\n3-5+ years of experience in program management, manufacturing engineering, NPI, product transfer, or manufacturing operations.\nExperience supporting manufacturing launches, production transfers, or volume ramps.\nStrong project management skills with the ability to manage schedules, actions, risks, and cross-functional dependencies.\nExperience working with Contract Manufacturers or external manufacturing partners.\nStrong communication and organizational skills.\nAbility to work effectively across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing organizations.\nComfortable working directly with manufacturing engineers and production teams to understand technical issues and drive closure.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project scheduling tools.\nPreferred\nExperience in electronics, optical, semiconductor, photonics, or other high-tech manufacturing environments.\nExperience with SMT manufacturing processes and equipment.\nExperience with manufacturing processes related to chip-on-carrier assembly, including assembly, bonding, inspection, or test processes.\nExperience with manufacturing equipment installation, process qualification, and production ramp.\nExperience working with Contract Manufacturers.\nFamiliarity with structured NPI / product development gate processes.\nExperience with Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.\nPMP or formal project management training is a plus.\nKey Success Factors\nThe successful candidate will:\nMaintain clear ownership and follow-up across complex manufacturing activities.\nIdentify schedule and readiness gaps before they impact production.\nWork effectively with technical teams without needing to be the primary technical expert.\nDrive issues to closure through structured problem solving and escalation.\nCommunicate program status clearly and concisely to both working teams and management.\nBuild strong working relationships with Contract Manufacturing partners.\nWe are an equal
