This is a shift-based role (24x7 operation, 12-hour shifts) rotating 2days, 2nights, 4days off structure.\nWorking closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality and R&D, the role supports process control, troubleshooting, production recovery, continuous improvement and new product introduction (NPI).\nThe role may support one or more of the following technology areas: Lithography & E-Beam Lithography, Dry & Wet Etching, Thin Film Deposition, Metal Deposition and Backend Wafer Processing. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide shift-based process engineering support across semiconductor fabrication and backend manufacturing operations.\nAct as an engineering point of contact for Manufacturing, providing timely technical support for process, product and equipment-related issues.\nMonitor process and product performance using SPC, MES and other manufacturing data systems, responding appropriately to abnormal or out-of-control conditions.\nInvestigate manufacturing excursions using structured problem-solving and root-cause-analysis techniques, implementing appropriate containment, recovery and corrective actions.\nMaintain and improve production processes to enhance process capability, yield, quality, throughput, cycle time and cost.\nSupport the development, qualification and introduction of new or modified manufacturing processes and products.\nApply SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and statistical methodologies to process improvement activities.\nIdentify recurring manufacturing issues and escalate significant or unresolved problems to the appropriate process owner or engineering team.\nPrepare and maintain technical documentation including operating procedures, engineering reports, process specifications and training materials.\nAbility to mentor Manufacturing personnel while ensuring established process controls, quality requirements and operating procedures are followed.\nWork safely to semiconductor cleanroom and manufacturing environments and comply with all site health, safety and environmental requirements.\n\n Education, Qualifications, Skills & CompetenciesBachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or equivalent industrial experience in Semiconductor Technology, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.\nExperience within semiconductor, photonics, compound semiconductor, MEMS, optoelectronics, silicon photonics or another advanced manufacturing environment is highly desirable.\nPractical or technical knowledge of one or more relevant semiconductor manufacturing technologies, including lithography, etching, thin-film deposition, metallisation or backend wafer processing.\nExperience in wafer mounting, thinning, back grinding, chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), polishing, cleaving and dicing is highly desirable\nKnowledge of SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and structured root-cause-analysis methodologies.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret process, equipment and product data.\nAbility to troubleshoot and prioritise manufacturing issues within a fast-paced production environment.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including effective communication between Manufacturing and Engineering teams.\nCompetent user of Microsoft Office, manufacturing execution systems (MES) and relevant data-analysis applications.\nKnowledge of photonic integrated circuit manufacturing would be advantageous.\n\nJob Challenges The Shift Process Engineer operates at the interface between Manufacturing and Engineering, providing timely technical support while maintaining safety, product quality and process control.The role requires the ability to assess and prioritise manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, make data-driven engineering decisions and coordinate appropriate recovery or escalation.The position provides broad exposure to semiconductor and photonic
