We’re just getting started.\nAbout the Role - Optical Product Test Engineer\nAs an Optical Product Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in validating and ensuring the quality of Lumilens’ photonic components, modules, and systems. This position combines hands-on production testing with test development and reporting, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing.\nYou will collaborate closely with the optical design, hardware, and manufacturing teams to calibrate, characterize, and troubleshoot next-generation photonics technologies that will drive tomorrow’s AI and HPC infrastructure.\nPrimary Duties & Responsibilities\nPerform characterization and testing of fiber optic components and modules\n\nAnalyze test results to ensure compliance with performance specifications and quality standards\n\nMaintain accurate, detailed records of test procedures and outcomes\n\nGenerate comprehensive test reports for internal and external stakeholders\n\nSupport troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve product issues\n\nDesign, plan, and conduct optical and fiber testing on components, devices, and systems\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support NPI and manufacturing ramp\n\nEducation & Experience\nBS or MS in Engineering, Physics, Optics, or a related technical field\n\n8+ years of industry experience in optical or fiber component testing preferred\n\nPrior exposure to photonics, telecom, or high-speed networking systems is a plus\n\nSkills\nHands-on experience with optical test instruments (e.g., optical spectrum analyzers, power meters, polarization controllers, bit-error-rate testers)\n\nFamiliarity with communication interfaces and test automation tools\n\nAbility to write or adapt scripts for automation (Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic; Shell scripting a plus)\n\nStrong analytical skills to interpret complex test data and identify patterns or anomalies\n\nResourceful problem-solver with ability to apply knowledge creatively to test challenges\n\nCapable of managing multiple test projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment\n\nStrong communication and documentation skills;
