We’re a fast-growing, global company building the world’s best clean energy products to electrify all homes and connect communities to form clean, resilient virtual power plants.\nOn a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…\nWork back and forth with collaborators across the company to continuously refine and improve our understanding of how our products can create the greatest impact, get to market quickly, and operate reliably for our customers\nBrainstorm and evaluate new solutions, weigh pros and cons, and narrow down options\nEfficiently test ideas and designs: anything from back-of-the-envelope calculations to physical tests and multi-physics simulations\nDesign high-performance, reliable, easy-to-manufacture parts and assemblies, employing a variety of high-volume manufacturing processes\nCreate and review drawings and other part specifications\nManage bills of materials, cost and mass roll-ups, vendors and engineering releases\nDefine manufacturing processes and inspection methods\nCollaborate directly with part manufacturers to support prototypes and production\nDesired Skills/Experience\nMechanical Design\nExtensive experience in 3D Modeling software (e.g. Onshape, NX, Solidworks)\nKnowledge of how to make a PCBA Bed of Nails fixture.\nDetailed knowledge of 2D Drawing creation and GD&T\nAbility to analyze designs using Tolerance Analysis/Stackup, Statics/Load Path Analysis, Finite Element Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and Design Failure Modes and Effect Analysis\nFamiliarity with electronic test equipment and basic electromechanical troubleshooting\nExperience with test fixtures, jigs, and various mechanical components for high cycle count.\nExperience with fine pitch assemblies and construction.\nShould be able to conduct strain gauge measurements and understand stress on PCBAs and incorporate proper design to avoid it.\nExperience with PCBA management such as Mechanical Control Outline generation\nWorking knowledge of pneumatic cylinders and control methods\nWorking knowledge of Thermal Management techniques \nPrototyping skills using 3D printing, machining, sheet metal bending, laser cutting, milling and general machine shop tools\nManage suppliers for all the parts which are required for our station construction.\nManufacturing Support\nExperience communicating with component suppliers including Design for Manufacturing report review, First Article Inspection, and Part Production Approval Process \nAbility to generate Work Instructions for electromechanical assemblies\nKnowledge of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis\nCreate preventive maintenance documentation.\nExtensive experience with Onsite Build Support at domestic and international contract manufacturing sites . Approximate 10-20% travel as and when required.\nCommunication\nAbility to generate detailed design documentation\nDrive a project from start to deployment involving other cross functional teams, vendors, technicians etc.\nAbility to collaborate with other engineers (electrical engineers, automated test engineers, etc..)\nSkilled at clear verbal and written communication including concise slide deck creation \nAbility to give kind and direct feedback and receive feedback with an open mind \nBenefits:\nWe’re dedicated to creating a remarkable employee experience.
