You will help position Lunar Outpost’s spacecraft systems, autonomy software, and mission operations platforms for next-generation national security space missions.\nTake the #NextLeap with Lunar Outpost!\nWorking Conditions / Schedule: This position is required to be onsite Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Where applicable, employees may work remotely on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required based on business needs.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCapture & Proposal Leadership:\nLead and support capture efforts to secure new contracts, recompete existing contracts, and maintain positive business relationships. This includes writing proposals and submitting bids to the DoD and private companies to secure new contracts and partnerships related to DoD space programs. \nAnalyze solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, OTAs) and translate customer requirements into compliant, technically differentiated proposals\nDevelop win strategies and competitive positioning aligned to mission needs and customer priorities\nCustomer Engagement & Market Development:\nBuild and maintain relationships with stakeholders across USSF, SDA, MDA, SSC, and other agencies\nShape opportunities by engaging DoD program offices to refine requirements and identify future needs\nTrack and analyze DoD space programs, budgets, and acquisition pathways (IDIQs, OTAs, SBIR/STTR)\nEngage with industry partners and internal personnel to enhance the probability of capture success\nSupport pipeline development and qualification of opportunities aligned with Lunar Outpost’s strategy\nRepresent Lunar Outpost at conferences, industry days, and customer engagements to evangelize technical capabilities\nTechnical Solution Development:\nPerform end-to-end engineering work for small research and development programs as they relate to capture efforts \nContribute as a technical lead during capture and proposal development - developing architectures, concepts of operations, and system trade studies. \nCross-Functional Leadership:\nCoordinate across engineering, program management and BD to deliver compelling and executable proposals \nDrive disciplined capture processes - own or contribute to proposal volumes (technical, management, cost) and coordinate color team reviews, schedules, and compliance\nStrategy & Growth:\nIdentify adjacent markets and follow-on opportunities to expand Lunar Outpost’s presence in national security space\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field\n4+ years of experience in DoD business development, capture, or proposal engineering (Aerospace or DoD field)\nDemonstrated experience supporting or leading proposals and capture efforts for U.S. Government contracts\nFamiliarity with DoD acquisition processes and regulations (FAR/DFARS)\nStrong technical background in spacecraft systems or mission operations (hardware and/or software)\nAbility to translate complex technical solutions into clear, compelling proposal content\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized and deadline-driven\nSelf-starter capable of operating in a fast-paced, startup environment\nU.S. Person (ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance)\nPreferred Qualifications:\nKnowledge of space mission areas such as:\nMissile warning / missile tracking\nSpace domain awareness\nProliferated LEO constellations\nSpace battle management / C2 architectures\nCislunar space operations\nExisting network within DoD space community (government, FFRDCs, primes)\nExperience with CRM/pipeline tools (e.g., GovWin)\nCompensation & Benefits: Compensation level and base salary are competitively structured and thoughtfully determined based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, and the scope of the role.\nComprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental, and vision benefits, with 70% of premiums covered by the employer\nPaid time off: Three (3) weeks per year of vacation\nRetirement plan: Up to 4% employer match on 401(k) contributions\nPaid holidays: 11 company-recognized holidays\nParental leave\nEducational reimbursement opportunities to support company objectives, continued learning, and career development\nLunar Outpost Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
