The Lead Flight Engineer is responsible fordevelopment, integration, test, and execution of all LTV mission planning, preparation and mission execution operations products and processes. Frequent interactions with NASA FOD and Lunar Outpost LTV Program personnel are required. The candidate will be requiredto give technical and high-level presentations to a variety of panels and forums.\nTake the #NextLeap with Lunar Outpost and work on the Pegasus LTV, which will carry NASA astronauts farther than they'veever been before on the lunar surface!\nWorking Conditions / Schedule: This position is required to be onsite Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Where applicable, employees may work remotely on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required based on business needs.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop LTV ground and flight procedures and operational documentation. Develop and execute Flight Plans according to programmatic mission requirements. Develop Flight Rules to ensure crew and vehicle safety. \nSupport planning of Lunar Outpost portions of Artemis missions through coordination with NASA Flight Operations Directorate personnel, Lunar Outpost LTV IPTs, technical discipline experts, the NASA Astronaut Office, safety organizations, and other mission-specific stakeholders.\nSuccessfully complete training and skill certification as an LTV flight controller and provide real-time operations support to LTV ops portions of Artemis missions.\nMake decisions during the LTV ops portions of Artemis missions to manage vehicle and ground resources to ensure crew and vehicle safety and mission success in coordination with the NASA FOD Artemis Flight Director, other FOD personnel, and other LTV flight controllers.\nDevelop responses to contingency situations in the areas of crew and vehicle systems, vehicle dynamics, and ground systems to resolve malfunctions and restore the mission to a normal operational state.\nTake a leadership role in the initialdevelopment of all LTV-related plan-train-fly processes for Artemis mission support.\nSupport development of MCC console configuration and console tool development activities in coordination with Mission Systems personnel.\nRequiredQualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’sdegree with a major in Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or other fields of physical science. \nCandidates must have at least 5+ years of experience in spaceflight mission operations.\nCandidates must be able to work and lead in a collaborative environment with multi-disciplinary engineering and mission operations teams.\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and administrative skills are mandatory. \nCandidate should be a self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment that requires him/her to work effectively both alone and as part of a team.\nPosition will periodically require working on nights, weekends, and holidays during Artemis mission operations. \nCandidates must be a U.S Person.\nPreferredQualifications\nExperience as a certified flight controller on a crewedand/or uncrewed spaceflight mission operations program\nExperience performing duties such as leading design or technical operations, including aspects related to hardware, software, flight control, flight design, orbital mechanics, launch services, or ground support systems.\nExperience providing technical and team leadership of ground, crew, or spacecraft capabilities which includespreflight design/planning, development of integrated procedures/rules, preflight training, or real time mission execution.\nAbility to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large teams.\nPriorhuman spaceflight experience.\nStrong technical writing skills, including technical review and operations product development experience.\nExperience in testing across multiple spacecraft systems\nCompensation & Benefits: Compensation level and base salary are competitively structured and thoughtfully determined based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, and the scope of the role.\nComprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental, and vision benefits, with 70% of premiums covered by the employer\nPaid time off: Three (3) weeks per year of vacation\nRetirement plan: Up to 4% employer match on 401(k) contributions\nPaid holidays: 11 company-recognized holidays\nParental leave\nEducational reimbursement opportunities to support company objectives, continued learning, and career development\nLunar Outpost Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
