We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pulsed Power R&D Engineer who can rapidly iterate and develop novel pulsed power systems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a resource-constrained environment, capable of transforming vague inputs into functional prototypes through consistent logical questioning and experimentation. This role demands a proactive individual who is mission-focused, capable of working independently, and able to travel to the field when necessary.\nTasks:\nLead and apply cutting-edge pulsed power systems.\nRapidly design and iterate innovative prototypes.\nEnsure safe and efficient lab testing and operations.\nOversee design specifications and documentation.\nConduct performance, lifetime, and safety testing.\nWork hands-on in a resource and schedule-constrained environment.\nRefine prototypes based on experimental results.\nPerform LTspice modeling tasks.\nDevelop custom diagnostics from scratch.\nInnovate with a logical, problem-solving approach.\nCommunicate technical concepts clearly to the team and stakeholders.\nDrive technological improvements and collaborate across teams.\nExperience in high voltage systems and components\nExperience in electro-static simulations\nStrong first-principles engineering fundamentals.\nExpert understanding of pulsed power systems. \nBackground in plasma physics. \nBasic domain knowledge including surface mount soldering, EMI protection of circuits, and control of circuits using Arduinos.\nBasic understanding of solid state power components/circuits (e.g. switched mode power supply topologies, power transformers, capacitors, MOSFET’s, thyristors) and integrated circuits.\nExcellent communicator with the ability to work well in an integrated team including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, managers, and suppliers.\nHands-on experience with fabrication and troubleshooting.\nExcited to work in a startup company culture and atmosphere.\nThis position is located at Lunar Resources' facility in Houston, TX.
