The Prevention Advisor will be required to assess various properties on behalf of Unica Insurance and provide loss prevention recommendations to reduce the frequency and severity of losses. The Prevention Advisor will also be responsible for building and maintaining a collaborative relationship with the Leadership and Underwriters in the Commercial Insurance department and the Claims department. Perform other duties as assigned.\nResponsibilities:\nAssess commercial property risks to identify and evaluate exposures\nEvaluate operational and safety practices including exposures and hazards\nCommunicate exposures, loss information, recommendations and opinion of risk to assist the underwriting department\nTravel to insured’s properties to complete risk assessments\nWhile touring the properties, take photographs, measure rooms and the structure, identify controls in place with regards to fire protection equipment/systems, common/special hazards, etc.\nSubmit reports in a narrative format to the underwriting department\nAdhere to customer requirements and quality standards\nDevelop and/or participate with presentations and seminars relating to property and liability risk mitigation\nMaintain confidentiality and act with integrity\nAssist with risk control administrative duties (RCT/Duckcreek, review 3rd party inspection reports, enter risk control surveys into system, etc.)\nQualifications:\nMinimum 3 years of property and commercial auto risk control experience\nGeneral knowledge of property, commercial general liability and auto insurance\nUniversity/College degree\nCIP/CRM/FCIP is an asset\nAbility to observe and evaluate potentially hazardous conditions and make recommendations\nBackground in construction, safety, fire safety and risk services\nBasic knowledge and education in safety inspections on commercial or residential properties is required\nBe familiar with and can interpret building codes and related standards\nSelf-motivated, detail oriented and innovative\nStrong analysis and problem solving and decision-making capabilities\nStrong time management as well as verbal/ written communication skills\nExcellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to develop and prioritize effective plans that define activities, resources, timelines, and cost estimates\nExcellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills both verbally and written\nProven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure\nProven ability to self-motivate and work autonomously with minimum supervision\nValid Driver’s license, ability to operate a motor vehicle, and a good driving record\nSalary Range: : $53,590 - $86,676 /year\nThis represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position.
