They fulfil the various needs of the business and ensure day to day operations and inquiries flow smoothly. This role will ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled and compliance requirements are fulfilled accurately and on time. This role works closely with the entire accounting team focused on serving the different business streams including Digital, Retail, Manufacturing, and Admin/Corporate across North America. This role owns lease and occupancy accounting, prepaids, digital and retail sales accruals, and related balance sheet reconciliations. Our Lush staff live with purpose, finding their personal connection with the values of our business, bringing their work and life paths into one holistic journey. #mylushlife\nReporting to the Accounting Manager, your core RESPONSIBILITIES will include:\nFinancial Reporting & Operations\nSupport preparation of monthly financial reporting including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, and variance analysis to the month-end close calendar\nPrepaid entries and reconciliations (expenses, insurance, personal property tax)\nDigital and retail sales, commission and delivery fee accruals, and channel reclasses\nOperating expense accruals\nBalance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis for retail operating expenses, prepaids, security deposits and retail inventory\nMaintain the monthly variance review files and GL account mapping\nLease & Occupancy Accounting\nOccupancy and lease accounting: deferred rent, tenant allowance and percentage rent entries and reconciliations for Canadian and US locations\nMonthly and annual landlord sales reporting\nAudits & Compliance\nEnsure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures\nSupport various audits (i.e. annual financial audit at June 30 fiscal year-end, including audit fieldwork in August and specific State audits, etc.) by preparing supporting documents and coordinating with other departments across North America\nEstablish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures\nCross-Departmental Collaboration & Support\nLiaise with other departments to analyze financial results and forecast future expenditures\nAssist with vendor and intercompany invoicing and payment matching\nWorking with other departments in North America to coordinate the flow of information to and from the finance department\nAssisting with other department needs as it relates to finance\nYou bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:\nRequired:\nCPA designation or enrolled in the CPA PEP program \n3+ years’ experience in accounting\nMonth-end close experience in a multi-entity environment\nLease accounting experience\nStrong Excel skills\nA keen eye for detail\nStrong work ethic\nPro-active approach and initiative\nEffective communication skills\nAbility to multitask and prioritize\nWork effectively in a time pressured environment\nPreferred:\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX\n1 year of experience working in industry\nExperience with Tango, Medius, Concur or Adaptive\nMulti-location retail experience with landlord reporting\nCanadian and US multi-entity experience, including intercompany\nExperience working in a manufacturing and/or retail environment\nThriving with a diverse company culture, celebrating the uniqueness of our staff, and committed to inclusion.
