You’ll oversee an assigned construction package or group of contracts from preconstruction through closeout, hold the work to the contract documents, and keep cost, schedule, quality, and safety visible so field issues get resolved before they turn into claims.\nThis post is for future roles and not for a specific opportunity that is available right now. We notify our talent pool candidates first whenever we have a project need.\nResponsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:\nNote: We are seeking candidates of various skill levels, and the following responsibilities represent the core of these roles. Scope and complexity increase with experience level.\nOversee contractor performance across an assigned construction package or group of contracts from preconstruction through closeout, and hold the work to the plans, specifications, and contract requirements.\nAdminister the construction contract, including submittals, requests for information, notices, and correspondence, and keep the record complete enough to stand up under audit and claim review.\nEvaluate change proposals and contractor pricing for entitlement, technical merit, cost impact, and schedule impact, and recommend a position the program can act on.\nReview baseline and update schedules for critical path, logic, and sequencing, and quantify the effect of delays and changes on the contract completion date.\nCoordinate the program’s inspection, materials testing, and quality assurance staff, and verify that installed work and submitted quantities match approved documents before payment.\nMonitor contractor safety and environmental compliance against the contract, permit conditions, and applicable OSHA and agency requirements, and escalate non-conforming conditions to resolution.\nTrack cost, progress, and quantities against the approved budget and schedule, and forecast where the contract lands so the program can act while options are still open.\nChair progress meetings, site walks, and issue resolution sessions with the contractor, the designer of record, and third parties, and drive open items to documented closure.\nCoordinate interfaces with utility owners, railroads, adjacent contracts, and airport or transit operations groups so construction phasing keeps facilities in service.\nDocument field conditions, directives, and determinations, and support the program’s response to notices of potential claim and dispute resolution.\nOversee closeout, including punch list resolution, record document and as-built turnover, warranty documentation, and support for commissioning and transition to operations and maintenance.\nAttributes\nExcellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.\nExcellent multi-tasking and organizational skills.\nCollaborative mindset that fosters teamwork, trust, and positive relationships.\nNatural curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, construction engineering, or engineering technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n10+ years of construction management experience for large (>$500M), complex, heavy-civil infrastructure projects.\nExperience overseeing contractor performance on behalf of an owner or agency, including field issue resolution and non-conformance follow-through.\nExperience administering construction contracts, including submittals, requests for information, change orders, and payment applications on publicly funded work.\nExperience evaluating change proposals and contractor pricing for entitlement, cost impact, and schedule impact.\nAbility to review CPM schedules for critical path, logic, and sequencing, and to assess the schedule effect of changes and delays.\nWorking knowledge of construction safety and quality assurance requirements on public infrastructure projects, including OSHA construction standards.\nExperience with industry standard construction management and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Unifier, Kahua, etc.).\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, construction engineering, or engineering technology.\nActive professional certifications and licenses such as CCM (CMAA), PMP (PMI), PE, and/or OSHA 30-Hour Construction (OSHA).\nExperience serving as the owner’s lead construction manager on a package exceeding $100M in construction value.\nExperience overseeing construction across multiple concurrent contracts or task orders on a program exceeding $1B in construction value.\nExperience overseeing a highway, roadway, or bridge package, including structural work such as deep foundations, falsework, and girder erection.\nExperience overseeing construction in an active rail transit corridor, on an operating airport, or at a water or wastewater treatment or conveyance facility.\nExperience leading construction management and inspection staff on an owner’s program team, including inspector assignment and performance feedback.\nProficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other dashboard KPI reporting software.\nCompensation Details\nExpected Salary: $130k-$200k/year ($63-$96/hour).
