The person needs to be knowledgeable on modern software development practices including Scrums, be up to date with the latest Java tools and frameworks and be able to work with the existing team to deliver solutions. The ideal candidate will be diligent, tenacious and delivery focused with a track record of building high quality solutions that are resilient and maintainable. Use of cloud technology is increasing, so experience working with AWS would be beneficial.\n- Design and implement solutions for:\n- Spring Boot & Hazelcast upgrades (including major version transitions)\n- Analyze existing distributed system usage (caching, clustering, locking)\n- Refactor applications toward stateless, scalable microservices\n- Implement and optimize integrations using Kafka-based event-driven architecture\n- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and architecture teams on migration and rollout strategy\n- Ensure high standards of performance, resilience, and fault are planned to be reassigned to other strategic programs within the client’s long-term roadmap, offering continued growth and exposure to new initiatives.\n\nSKILLS\nMust have\nTechnical\n Strong commercial Java development experience.\n Strong knowledge of Java and the wider Java ecosystem.\n Experience with Spring and/or Spring Boot.\n Experience managing dependencies using Maven and/or Gradle.\n Experience upgrading Java libraries, frameworks and third-party dependencies.\n Experience identifying, investigating and remediating software security vulnerabilities.\n Good understanding of secure coding practices and common application security risks.\n Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\n Experience working with Git and CI/CD pipelines.\n Experience working with established or legacy Java applications.\n Experience assessing the impact of upgrades and remediation changes on existing systems.\n Experience with unit and integration testing.\nNice
