Technical Project Manager

Our client is a UK subsidiary of a global financial house working in multiple markets and asset classes.

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager / Business Analyst to support business transformation, operational improvement, and technology delivery initiatives. The successful candidate will combine project management, business analysis, and process improvement skills to help drive efficient delivery of projects and operational change.

The role requires strong analytical and documentation capabilities, with the ability to understand operational processes, identify simplification opportunities, map business workflows, analyse data flows, and support stakeholders in defining business and technical requirements.

This position is ideal for an individual who can bridge the gap between business and technology teams while maintaining strong governance, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Project Management Support
• Support project planning, tracking, governance, and reporting activities.
• Prepare project status updates, meeting minutes, RAID logs, action trackers, and steering committee materials.
• Coordinate activities across business, operations, technology, and third-party teams.
• Monitor project progress against milestones and escalate risks or dependencies where required.
• Support delivery managers and programme managers in maintaining project controls and governance standards.
• Ability to use Microsoft project and starter level AI/Chat GPT/ Teams components

  Business Analysis

• Gather, document, and validate business requirements through workshops and stakeholder interviews.
• Analyse current-state and future-state business processes.
• Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements.
• Support solution design discussions by providing business context and process understanding.
• Produce high-quality documentation including:

  o Technical/Business Requirements Documents (TDO/BRDs)

  o Functional Specifications

  o Gap Analysis Documentation

  o Process/ data flow Maps

  o Data Mapping Documents

  o Business Impact Assessments

  Process Analysis & Simplification

• Review existing operational processes and identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and efficiency improvements.
• Challenge existing ways of working and recommend practical improvements.
• Document end-to-end processes and operational controls.
• Facilitate process improvement workshops with business stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement and Lean/Kaizen initiatives.

  Process Mapping & Data Analysis

• Create high-level and detailed process flow diagrams using recognised modelling techniques.
• Develop current-state and target-state process maps.
• Understand and document:

  o Business workflows

  o Operational hand-offs

  o System interactions

  o Data lineage and data flows

• Produce data mapping documentation between source and target systems.
• Identify data dependencies, transformation rules, and control points within business processes.
• Assist in impact assessments for business and technology changes.

  Stakeholder Management

• Engage effectively with business users, operations teams, technology teams, and project stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops and gather information from subject matter experts.
• Communicate complex information in a clear and structured manner.
• Build strong working relationships across multiple teams and functions.

SKILLS

Must have

• MUST HAVE:
• 2-5 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Project Manager, Process Analyst, or related role within Banking, Financial Services, Operations, Technology, or Change Delivery environments.
• Experience analysing operational processes and identifying process improvement opportunities.
• Strong process mapping and workflow documentation skills.
• Understanding of end-to-end business processes and operational controls.
• Experience documenting business requirements and functional requirements.
• Ability to understand and document data flows and data mappings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation quality.
• Proficiency in:

  o Microsoft Excel

  o Microsoft Project

  o Chat GPT

  o PowerPoint

  o Word

  o Visio (preferable)

  Technical Knowledge

• Understanding of:

  o System-to-system integrations

  o Data flows and interfaces

  o Data transformation and mapping

  o Business process modelling

  o Change management practices

• Ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies.
• Experience supporting process automation initiatives.
• Familiarity with core banking, payments, regulatory, or operational systems.
