Our goal is to become the leaders in harnessing, refining, and trading compute, unlocking a new asset class for the world’s most important digital resource.\nAs Luxor continues to scale rapidly across software, hardware, financial, energy and cloud infrastructure products, every team member has the opportunity to shape mission-critical systems, influence company-wide strategy, and contribute directly to the future of the compute economy.\nRole description\nWe are looking for a Data Engineer to join our collaborative, and fast-moving team to work on one of the most rewarding projects in the mining and compute industry.\nBasic Requirements\nExperience building both streaming & batch data pipelines/ETL and familiarity with design principles.\n\nExpert in Python, PostgreSQL, and PL/pgSQL development and administration of large databases with focus on performance and production support on native cloud deployments.\n\nExperience with scalability solutions and multi-region replication and failover solutions.\n\nExperience with data warehouse technologies (Trino, Clickhouse, Airflow, etc).\n\nBachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.\n\nDeep understanding of programming and experience with at least one programming language.\n\nEnglish language proficiency.\n\nPreferred Requirements\nKnowledge of Kubernetes and Docker\n\n4+ years of working experience in relevant data field.\n\nKnowledge of blockchain technology / mining pool industry.\n\nExperience with agile development methodology.\n\nExperience delivering and owning web-scale data systems in production.\n\nExperience working with Kafka, preferably redpanda & redpanda connect.\n\nThe Ideal Candidate\nPassionate about cryptocurrency and public-blockchain technologies.\n\nHas an interest in creating an entirely new market with Hashrate (compute power) as a commodity.\n\nHas an interest in thinking and evolving the architecture of our software to make it robust and maintainable.\n\nEnjoys writing code and pushing boundaries of what has been done so far.\n\nBrings fun to the team but can also go own the rabbit hole to push quality code on schedule.\n\nResponsibilities\nBuild scalable and reliable data pipelines that provide accurate data feeds from internal and external systems.\n\nGovern scalable & performant cloud-deployed production relational and non-relational databases.\n\nCollaborate on architecture definitions, always thinking of solutions that are scalable and secure.\n\nDrive data systems to be as near real-time as possible.\n\nDesign, document, automate and execute test plans to ensure the quality of the datasets.\n\nParticipate in the process of generating and analyzing features.\n\nAt Luxor we believe that meaningful contributions can be made by anyone.
