growing product complexity, increased regulatory constraints and major strategic initiatives, LuxTrust is strengthening its engineering leadership by appointing a Head of Software Engineering.\nReporting to the CIO, the Head of Software Engineering is accountable for the end-to-end delivery performance of development and QA teams, ensuring predictable execution, high quality and continuous improvement.\nThe role acts as the bridge between demand (Business & PMO) and supply (Engineering & Operations), while driving people development, technical excellence and sustainable delivery capacity.\nMissions of the role\nEngineering Delivery & Production Oversight\n\n- Ensure end-to-end delivery and production follow-up of Application Development and QA teams.\n- Monitor execution across projects, products, changes and incidents.\n- Ensure predictable, reliable and high-quality delivery in line with commitments.\n- Act as the ultimate escalation point for delivery and engineering-related issues.\nCapacity Management & Demand Alignment\n\n- Own engineering capacity management across Application development and QA.\n- Act as a key interface with the Head of PMO and Business to align supply vs demand.\n- Contribute to portfolio prioritisation and delivery planning.\n- Provide clear visibility on capacity constraints, trade-offs and delivery scenarios.\nVelocity & Delivery Performance\n\n- Monitor and improve development velocity across projects and programmes managed by the PMO.\n- Define, track and analyse engineering KPIs (velocity, throughput, predictability, quality, lead-time, etc.).\n- Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve engineering flow and efficiency.\nChange & Incident Management Interface\n\n- Coordinate with the Head of IT Operations Core on:\n- Capacity allocation for changes, incidents and production support.\n- Prioritisation and arbitration between run and change activities.\n- Ensure smooth collaboration between Engineering and IT Operations teams.\nPeople Management & Team Development\n\n- Lead, coach and grow LuxTrust application development and QA teams.\n- Own people management responsibilities:\nPerformance evaluations\n\nCareer paths and competency development plans\n\nTraining and upskilling\n\nRecruitment and onboarding\n\n- Define and execute a staff evolution and skills development strategy aligned with LuxTrust’s roadmap.\n- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, continuous improvement, collaboration and excellence.\nQuality & Engineering Best Practices\n\n- Define and enforce engineering and testing best practices.\n- Put in place metrics and frameworks to measure and improve code quality, testing quality and delivery robustness.\n- Promote automation (CI/CD, test automation, quality gates).\n- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory and quality standards.\nArchitecture, Design & Innovation Interface\n\n- Act as a key interface with Architecture teams on:\nTechnical design and solution alignment\n\nArchitectural changes and evolution\n\nTechnology choices and innovation initiatives\n\n- Ensure architectural consistency while enabling agility and innovation.\n- Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap.\nGovernance & Budget Management\n\n- Manage the Engineering budget (resources, tools, vendors, external partners).\n- Oversee relationships with external technology partners and service providers.\n- Optimize cost efficiency while maintaining high engineering standards.\nReporting & Performance Management\n\n- Define and track performance metrics.\n- Provide regular reporting to the CIO and executive leadership.\n- Identify and mitigate delivery and technology risks.\nCorporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sustainable IT & Accessibility\n\n- Promote and implement sustainable engineering practices, including eco-design principles to reduce the environmental footprint of digital products and services (energy efficiency, optimized architectures, responsible hosting, and code efficiency).\n- Integrate sustainability considerations into technology decisions, vendor selection, and infrastructure strategy.\n- Raise awareness within engineering teams about Green IT best practices and responsible digital development.\n- Ensure compliance with applicable accessibility regulations and standards (such as WCAG, ADA, EAA, or other local accessibility laws).\n- Embed accessibility-by-design principles into product development processes.\n- Collaborate with Product and UX teams to ensure inclusive and accessible digital experiences for all users.\nRequired skills\nQualifications / diploma(s): Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.\n\nYears of experience in the area: 10-15+ years of experience in software engineering and delivery.\n\nTechnical Competencies:\n\n- Strong understanding of modern software development practices (CI/CD, DevOps, test automation).\n- Solid grasp of Agile and hybrid delivery models.\n- Ability to manage multiple streams: projects, run, changes and incidents.\n- Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.\n- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\n- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and executive stakeholders.\nLanguages: French and English fluent.
