These recognitions highlight LVHN's commitment to teamwork, compassion, and technology with an unrelenting focus on delivering the best health care possible every day.\nWhether you're considering your next career move or your first, you should consider Lehigh Valley Health Network.\nSummary\nWorks closely with patient navigators, clinicians, hospital staff, referring physicians, and insurance carriers while providing administrative and scheduling support throughout the practices.\nJob Duties\nObtains all necessary information required to maintain provider schedules.\nMaintains overall coordination of provider availability to cover services as required by the practice including office hours, in-patient and out-patient, scheduled meetings and conferences, and vacation or time off.\nMonitors and updates schedule throughout the day and distributes changes to all affected parties.\nAnticipates patients’ expectations and educational needs; understands basic requirements for all procedures performed to be able to answer basic patient inquiries or to direct the inquires to the appropriate area or person.\nMonitors use of scheduled time and monitors schedule for conflicts.\nUpdates patient charts and electronic health record information with pertinent patient and insurance information.\nAttends and participates in scheduled contract, committee, and all-staff meetings.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma/GED \n2 years Experience in a healthcare setting. \nDemonstrate initiative. \nAbility to handle multiple tasks efficiently and timely. \nComputer skills and word processing proficiency. \nKnowledge and working use of medical terminology. \nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate’s Degree \n4 years Experience in a healthcare setting. \nKnowledge of physician practice scheduling software \nPhysical Demands\nLift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.\nJob Description Disclaimer: This position description provides the major duties/responsibilities, requirements and working conditions for the position.
