Based in Washington D.C this stellar individual will be directly involved in shaping the policy framework for the evolving ridesharing industry as a pivotal part of our Public Policy team. \nResponsibilities:\nProvide legal expertise to Lyft’s Public Policy team on legislative issues.\nTrack, analyze, and evaluate proposed legislation across topic areas, identifying risks and opportunities. \nDraft legislative language, amendments, and recommendations that reflect the interests of Lyft’s users and business.\nIdentify legislative trends and develop responsive strategies across subject matters and jurisdictions.\nCollaborate cross-functionally to assess legislative impacts and inform decision-making.\nPartner with Lyft’s regional Public Policy team members on market-specific legislative efforts.\nDevelop leading expertise on a specific issue area, in coordination with their manager. \nCoordinate with Lyft’s compliance, legal, and operations teams as new regulatory frameworks are implemented.\nExperience:\nLaw degree required.\n5+ years of experience with legislative drafting for a local, state and/or federal legislative body, or at a trade association or company.\nExceptional ability to critically analyze policy and legal issues.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding (and sometimes unstructured) environment.\nSelf-starter; intrinsically motivated.\nExperience with insurance, transportation, technology, AI, privacy, or labor and employment law a plus but not required\nBenefits: \nGreat medical, dental, and vision insurance options with additional programs available when enrolled\nMental health benefits\nFamily building benefits\nChild care and pet benefits\n401(k) plan with company match to help save for your future\nIn addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have discretionary paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off\n18 weeks of paid parental leave. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
