You will build the foundational infrastructure that connects Lyft to emerging AI ecosystems and devices and architect the APIs and orchestration layers that allow third-party agents and multimodal interfaces to interact with Lyft. By building these robust integration, you will help make Lyft available where our riders are.\nResponsibilities:\nEstablish engineering best practices and patterns; help uplift the team's craft and drive a culture of engineering excellence\nDrive high-impact projects and innovate new solutions to deliver the best user experience\nProduce and drive scalable system design for large, complex features - from idea through execution and launch\nMentor engineers on the team, providing technical guidance and supporting their growth\nWrite well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code\nParticipate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge across the team\nParticipate in the team's on-call rotation; identify, triage, debug, and resolve issues across our applications and platforms\nHave the ability to explain the various trade offs made in decisions\nManage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.\nExperience:\nBS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience.\n5+ years of software engineering/production infrastructure industry experience.\nExperience with Python and Go.\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), distributed systems, and databases such as PostgreSQL or DynamoDB\nProficient and effective in using AI tools (e.g. Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate coding and engineering workflows\nProficiency in object-oriented programming.\nExperience working with data structures or algorithms.\nAbility to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, and cross-functional team.\nBonus points: Experience with LLM orchestration (LangChain, etc.), Vector Databases, or building APIs for conversational agents.\nBenefits:\nExtended health and dental coverage options, along with life insurance and disability benefits\nMental health benefits\nFamily building benefits\nChild care and pet benefits\nAccess to a Lyft funded Health Care Savings Account\nRRSP plan with company match to help save for your future\nIn addition to provincial observed holidays, salaried team members are covered under Lyft's flexible paid time off policy.
