As an engineer at Lyft, you'll collaborate with teams like product, data science, analytics, and operations on code that empower us to iterate quickly, while focusing on delighting our passengers and drivers.\nAs a Software Engineer in the Identity team, your primary responsibilities will encompass:\n Lyft’s Login & Signup Experiences:Design and enhancement of our Multi-factor authentication (MFA) experiences.\nOptimization of verification funnels, including:Phone-based two-factor authentication (2FA)\nEmail verification\nIdentity provider single sign-ons (SSO)\n\nOverseeing session management and device validation.\nDeveloping OAuth client provisioning and related tooling.\n\nAccount Security:Act as the frontline defense against fraudsters and phishers aiming to exploit rider and driver accounts through product vulnerabilities.\nImplement strategies to counteract risks posed by social engineering tactics.\n\n Scaling Core Services:Lead the maintenance and optimization of core microservices under the Identity team's purview, essential to Lyft’s diverse service offerings.\nManage organizational structures and multi-user management systems. (RBAC, family accounts, AuthZ)\n\n Design solutions for high-stakes challenges such as:Preventing unauthorized driving.\nThwarting abuse related to recycled phones and their numbers.\nStriking a balance between stringent customer verification and ensuring minimal user friction.\n\nResponsibilities\nWrite well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code\nPromote appropriate tech and engineering best practices\nImplement identity and security protocols to secure and protect Lyft users data at scale\nPartner with teams across Lyft on identity and account security initiatives\nUnblock, effectively communicate, and obtain buy-in across teams to achieve results\nShare your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and evangelizing appropriate tech and engineering best practices\nExperience\n3+ years of engineering experience working in any of these stacks; Python, GO, Java, etc.\nExperience with cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud(GCP), Oracle Cloud, etc\nAble to write clear, scalable and clear design documentation\nRelevant experience mentoring engineers on the team\nBenefits:\nExtended health and dental coverage options, along with life insurance and disability benefits\nMental health benefits\nFamily building benefits\nChild care and pet benefits\nAccess to a Lyft funded Health Care Savings Account\nRRSP plan with company match to help save for your future\nIn addition to provincial observed holidays, salaried team members are covered under Lyft's flexible paid time off policy.
