We work with Product & Science to solve and implement complex pricing requirements, balancing the needs of riders, drivers, and the business goals. As an owner of one of the most critical flows in the company, you will work on a wide array of challenges such as latency-sensitive concurrency problems, large scale distributed systems, and experimentation. If you’re interested in playing a large part in demand / supply management and improving the Lyft customer experience, this could be a great fit for you. \nResponsibilities:\nHelp define the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs\nUnblock, support, effectively communicate, and obtain buy-in across teams to achieve results\nLead projects of multiple people from idea to positive execution\nWrite clear, scalable and clear design documentation\nWrite well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code\nUtilize your expertise in Python, Golang, AWS to deliver robust and scalable solutions\nParticipate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge \nProactively participate in resolving ongoing incidents \nShare your knowledge through tech talks, mentorship, and evangelizing appropriate tech and engineering best practices\nExperience:\nBS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience\n5+ years of software engineering industry experience\nExtensive experience in object oriented programming, ideally in GoLang or Python\nExperience in backend software development of large-scale distributed systems and concurrency\nExperience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.)\nStrong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners\nBenefits:\nExtended health and dental coverage options, along with life insurance and disability benefits\nMental health benefits\nFamily building benefits\nChild care and pet benefits\nAccess to a Lyft funded Health Care Savings Account\nRRSP plan with company match to help save for your future\nIn addition to provincial observed holidays, salaried team members are covered under Lyft's flexible paid time off policy.
