The Safety Specialist will work with engineering, program management, and operations teams to identify hazards, develop risk controls, and maintain safety documentation.\nThis position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate safety concerns and recommended actions to technical and operational personnel.\nResponsibilities\nDuties of the Safety Specialist will include the following:\nSupport safety planning for development, integration, testing, demonstrations, and field activities.\nConduct and document hazard assessments, identify risks, and recommend appropriate controls.\nDevelop and review safety plans, procedures, checklists, and briefing materials.\nCoordinate safety reviews and readiness discussions with program leadership, technical teams, and activity stakeholders.\nTrack safety requirements and corrective actions; elevate unresolved concerns to responsible leadership.\nMonitor activities for adherence to established safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.\nSupport safety briefings, training, and communication of activity-specific requirements.\nMaintain safety records, inspection findings, and documentation of corrective actions.\nSupport reporting and review of incidents and near misses, including follow-up on recommended improvements.\nAssist with emergency response planning and coordination for assigned activities.\nCoordinate with customers, partners, and subject matter experts to address applicable safety requirements.\nPerform other safety and program support activities as required\nQualifications\nThe Safety Specialist selected should have the following:\nBachelor’s degree in occupational safety, engineering, science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.\nExperience supporting safety planning, hazard identification, risk assessment, or related activities.\nAbility to review technical and operational activities and document safety concerns clearly.\nStrong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work with multidisciplinary teams and track requirements through resolution.\nAbility to travel as required.\nSecurity Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for assigned work\nThe Ideal Safety Specialist will have the following:\nExperience supporting Department of Defense, federal government, research and development, or complex technical programs.\nExperience supporting field activities, technical demonstrations, testing, or readiness reviews.\nRelevant safety training or professional certifications.\nAbout Lynker\nLynker is a growing, employee owned business, specializing in professional, scientific and technical services.
