They are responsible for maintaining cloud or on-premises (typically AWS govcloud) infrastructure supporting all aspects of Windchill, ThingWorx, and related/required components to meet customer functionality and performance requirements on all Production and non-Production environments. They are responsible for installing PTC and supporting 3rd party software including cps updates, maintenance build installations, performing upgrades, performing rehost activities, and applying application security updates. This resource is also responsible for developing and maintaining a Windchill environment image that can be shared with and used by developers to execute their daily work. Finally, this role will also perform regular Windchill system maintenance including both front end GUI related administration as well as backend daily, weekly, monthly, and as needed activities. This role involves supporting Windchill application development projects directly supporting the Software and Enterprise Solutions team supporting the US Navy.\nThe ideal candidate has 5 to 8 years of experience in Windchill installations, rehosting, upgrading, infrastructure setup and maintenance in a RedHat Linux based environment. The ideal candidate must also be proficient in AWS and hold relevant AWS certifications. They must have the ability to work independently and have demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.\nReview and confirm infrastructure setup to recommend and implement any optimizations for performance/scalability/cost savings (e.g. switch from monolithic to cluster, establishment of a load balancer and backup/recovery plan)\nDesign, develop, and maintain a Windchill & ThingWorx Navigate image to be shared with Windchill Developers to support their daily work.\nResponsible for installing and performing upgrades of Windchill, applying critical patch sets, and fixing security vulnerabilities on a regular basis with all infrastructure and applications supporting Windchill.\nResponsible for performing rehosts to and data refreshes on non-production environments as needed.\nConduct comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, and system testing ensuring application infrastructure and performance is maintained.\nWork with the larger Windchill production sustainment team to debug and resolve complex application/customization defects and issues that may require performance and infrastructure related investigations and solutions.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation for all environment infrastructure.\nStay up to date with the latest Windchill developments and AWS industry best practices.\nOther duties as assigned. \nRequired Qualifications\nCurrently hold or able to obtain a U.S. security clearance.\nCurrently hold PTC certifications for Windchill.\nCurrently hold relevant AWS certifications.\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other Engineering discipline.\nMinimum 5 years of experience working with PTC’s Windchill PLM & ThingWorx Navigate software, specifically performing installations, patching, upgrades, and rehosts.\nMinimum 3 years of experience working with and setting up AWS cloud services to host Windchill.\nExperience managing Ansible playbooks.\nExperience with Windchill, ThingWorx Navigate, and AWS licensure.\nExperience maintaining and optimizing performance of Windchill version 12+ and ThingWorx version 9+.\nExperience diagnosing networking related issues.\nExperience managing Active Directory and AppStream.\nExperience reviewing and applying security STIGs on Windows and Linux.\nExperience collaborating with the PTC Technical Support & R&D organizations.\nExperience collaborating with AWS Technical Support.\nExperience setting up and working with Virtualized Environments hosting Windchill.\nExperience with installation and maintenance of an Oracle db.\nProficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server administration, as well as scripting for Windchill Implementations.\nKnowledge of Windchill System & Business Administration, including security configurations.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nStrong documentation skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience with database management systems (e.g. Oracle and SQL Server) and SQL scripting.\nExperience with and certifications in Agile software development methodologies.\nExperience with Fortify or other SAST security scanning tools.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and code management leveraging GIT (e.g. repo, branches, merging, conflict resolution, build hardening, ant scripting, and deployment vehicles like BIFF, SCF, etc.).\nIn-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense industry.\nKnowledge of DoD software development policies and requirements.\nWork Environment\nEmployees have the flexibility to telework to fulfill their work responsibilities effectively.
