Working in a team environment, it carries responsibility for implementing reliability best practices, developing and optimizing preventive maintenance tasks, and supporting maintenance activities. The position interacts with other technical groups on site (process engineering, capital project, and maintenance), corporate technical networks, and vendors/suppliers as needed to resolve problems and improve plant safety and reliability performance.\nA Day in the Life\nBe the site subject matter expert for a variety of machinery assets. (e.g. pumps, compressors, fans, gearboxes, etc.) \nMonitor equipment performance and make improvement recommendations. \nApply data analysis techniques to develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems related to rotating equipment (e.g. pumps, compressors, fans, gear boxes, agitators, etc.) \nConsult with peers at the site and across the company to develop and implement best practices. \nServe as a resource and conduit to share machinery best practices and leverage operating improvement opportunities across the site and company. \nLead development of long range plan for plant machinery upgrades, maintenance, overhauls, and overall equipment strategy. \nProvide technical support/expertise within your discipline in the design and installation stages of projects for new assets and modification of existing assets to minimize life cycle cost and maximize asset availability. \nMaintain awareness of emerging technology, assessing applicability to improve reliability and performance, or to reduce maintenance cost of machinery. \nLead and participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis. \nParticipate in turnaround planning, execution, and optimization activities. \nSystematically define, design, develop, monitor, and refine an asset maintenance plan that includes: \nSupport and mentor junior mechanical engineers. \nDevelop value-added preventive maintenance tasks. \nEffective utilization of predictive condition monitoring to proactively identify potential reliability issues \nApplying value analysis to repair/replace/redesign decisions \nProviding technical support to production, maintenance, project, and process engineering groups. \nLead Management of Change (MOC) process for equipmen, maintenance, and operations changes \nYou Bring This Value\nA Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other applicable discipline from an accredited university \n5 to 10 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment design, installation, and maintenance in the refining, petrochemical, chemical process, or power generation industries \nAbility to drive continuous safety and reliability improvements in equipment installations and work processes \nAbility to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with internal and external clients \nStrong commitment to safety, a high level of personal integrity, and dedication to conducting business in anethical way \nProficient in rotating equipment (pumps, centrifugal, screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, fans, gearboxes, agitators.) \nKnowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (i.e. ASME, API, ANSI) \n Ability to perform machinery diagnostics and specify repairs \nCondition monitoring \nRCM based Predictive and Preventive Maintenance strategies \nComponent Failure analysis \nRoot cause analysis \nBarrier Failure analysis \nReliability data analysis \n Ability to apply computer software tools (SAP, Microsoft Office, Meridium) \nWhat We Offer\nCompetencies\nBuild Partnerships\nDeliver Results\nDrive Innovation\nGrow Capabilities\nPromote Inclusion\nMotivational Fit\nTechnical Skills\nLearn more about our benefits: Benefits/Health & Welfare | LyondellBasell\nStay Connected!\nVisit our LYB Website\nFollow us on LinkedIn and Instagram\nLike us on Facebook\nSubscribe to our YouTube channelLyondellBasell is an equal opportunity employer.
