This role supports the Equistar Pipeline group (EPO) and is part of the Maintenance Group supporting pipeline operation and reliability improvement efforts. Working in a team environment, it carries responsibility for implementing reliability best practices, developing and optimizing preventive maintenance tasks, and supporting maintenance activities. The position interacts with other site groups including area engineers, capital projects, corporate technical networks/peers, and third-party vendors/suppliers as needed to resolve problems and improve equipment reliability and performance. This position is based at the EPO Clear Lake facility in Houston Texas in southeast Harris County, but routine travel to equipment repair shops and pipeline sites/facilities across southeast Texas is expected (approximately 25-50%).\nA Day in the Life\nMonitors equipment performance and makes improvement recommendations\nAnalyzes root cause for equipment failure to meet performance standards\nApplies data analysis techniques to develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect pipeline operations, including: capacity, quality, cost, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance issues\nLeads and/or participates in incident investigations \nIdentifies “bad actors,” determines causes and consequences of failure, evaluates potential solutions, and develops action plans for remediation.\nAnalyzes cost/benefit of potential solutions to minimize equipment life cycle cost and maximize asset availability; performs economic analysis of repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions\nProvides technical support/expertise for the design and installation of projects and new equipment/assets, as well as modification of existing equipment \nParticipates in interdisciplinary Reliability Improvement Team and guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, controls, and safety systems.\nProvide input for requested deviations to engineering standards, guidelines, and maintenance and reliability procedures.\nConsults with peers at the site and across the company\nProvides technical support and oversight for the proper care and operation of equipmentReviews operations-specific condition monitoring compliance\nReviews operator equipment rounds exception reporting, tracking, and follow-up \nCreates and maintains equipment startup, operation, and shutdown procedures\nAssist operations with troubleshooting equipment performance issues \nDevelops maintenance and operations task details and implements in appropriate execution management system\n\nProvides technical support for the proper maintenance and quality repair of equipmentReviews and assesses Preventive Maintenance (PM) program compliance \nDevelops and maintains work scopes, Inspection and Test Plans, Shop Surveillance Requirements, for equipment maintenance/repairs \nUtilizes appropriate non-destructive testing methodologies to identify problems\nSupports equipment repairs both (both internal and external repair facilities), and ensures quality repair documentation (as-found and return-to-service conditions) \nProvides guidance in the field for our millwrights and shop repairs.\n\nDevelops, monitors, and refines Equipment Maintenance StrategiesVerifies Preventive Maintenance tasks are value-added\nAssesses Predictive Maintenance (PdM) compliance (oil analysis, vibration monitoring, etc.)\nEnsures Equipment Master Data accuracy and completeness\nPopulates equipment Bill of Material (BOM) with materials (stock and non-stock) in correct quantities in alignment with spare parts strategy\nEnsures Material Master (MM) data accuracy and completeness for spare parts \n\nYou Bring This Value\nBS degree in Mechanical Engineering\nMinimum of 5 years of owner operator/operatordownstream experiencein the refining, petrochemical, chemical process, or power generation industries is preferred \nPipeline experience is preferred.\nStrong interpersonal leadership skills are critical due to the requirement for effective communication of complex issues across the organization, as well as for mentoring and consensus building.\nThe successful candidate must exhibit an understanding of business drivers, Management of Change (MOC) requirements, reliability processes, and maintenance workflow (SAP experience is preferred).\nThe individual must have or develop basic proficiency in the following areas:Basic understanding of industry codes and standards (i.e. ASME, API, ANSI)\nRotating Equipment (pumps, steam turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, blowers, gearboxes)\n\nWhat We Offer\nCompetencies\nDrive Innovation\nTechnical Skills\nGrow Capabilities\nPromote Inclusion\nMotivational Fit\nBuild Partnerships\nDeliver Results\nLearn more about our benefits: Benefits/Health & Welfare | LyondellBasell\nStay Connected!\nVisit our LYB Website\nFollow us on LinkedIn and Instagram\nLike us on Facebook\nSubscribe to our YouTube channelLyondellBasell is an equal opportunity employer.
