The Front-Line Supervisor provides frontline leadership for an Operations team, ensuring work is performed safely, reliably, and in compliance with operating procedures, environmental requirements and site standards. Through visible field presence, the supervisor sets clear expectations, coaches and develops employees, removes barriers and reinforces accountability. Partnering closely with Operations leaders, People & Culture and support functions, the role fosters a safe, inclusive and high-performing work environment while delivering disciplined operational excellence every shift. The supervisor is responsible for the performance and development of a shift of up to 15 operators. The shift supervisor is part of the Incident Command structure and has authority / responsibility to shut down any or all equipment to meet any applicable emergency.\nA Day in the Life\nLead and support safe, reliable, and disciplined shift operations through strong operational discipline, field audits, verification of compliance with company safety procedures and authorization of work permits as required. \nMaintain a visible field presence to understand risks, barriers, and employee needs. \nAccountable for developing a high performing shift team and developing individual operators skills and abilities, including discipline when appropriate. \nWorks with unit specialist, process engineers, and manager to ensure operations of the unit meet the business and site objectives. \nMaintains knowledge of unit procedures, equipment, and personnel to meet the objectives of the area including operations, safety, environmental, maintenance, and quality performance. \nInterfaces with the maintenance personnel on maintenance execution and turnarounds. \nInterfaces with the project engineering and construction personnel to manage projects in the area. \nReports, investigates, and initiates corrective actions in the unit. Actively troubleshoots problems and develops plans to resolve issues. \nWorks with other Shift Supervisors to train and evaluate operator performance. Ensures that policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are followed. \nAccountability for unit housekeeping and operating discipline rounds. \nAccountable for ensuring that site operations comply with union contractual requirements. \nYou Bring This Value\nMinimum of a high school diploma or GED \nTypically a minimum of 8 years of Manufacturing plant operations experience with good knowledge of the relevant safety hazards of the process. \nExcellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with employees and all departments within LyondellBasell. Leadership, coaching and supervision skills are required.
