Operating Executive

Unlike typical Private Equity investments with a three-to-five-year liquidation strategy, we buy businesses and invest in them for the long-term. We believe in the value of our acquisitions and want to grow. We bought our companies because they already had success in the marketplace. Instead of asking them to conform to a unified platform, we allow companies to keep their team, culture and branding in place.

We made our first acquisition at the beginning of 2018. Today, we hold a controlling stake in 120+ companies across the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. Our companies employ over 3,000 team members, each led by their own management team, and provide world-class support to over 12,000 clients. 

The Role

• Own the business end to end: Set the vision and strategy, run the operating cadence, and answer for the company's overall performance.
• Build and/or optimize an organic growth engine: Build a repeatable growth engine: ideal client profile, pricing, sales and marketing motion, and retention.
• Manage P&L responsibility for a multi-million-dollar business: Own the full P&L, manage margin through delivery efficiency, and drive the budget and board reporting.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team: Develop people into bigger roles, and build a culture ambitious people want to stay in.

You will not do this alone. You will join a group of peer executives across our businesses who meet regularly, share what is working, and work through problems together. You will have access to shared resources across the platform, alongside direct support from the group's leadership on the decisions that matter most. Most CEOs tell us this supprt is the thing they underestimated going in.

Requirements 

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or related field. MBA a plus, not required.
• Operating track record: Proven ownership of revenue, margin, or delivery results, ideally in tech or services. MSP experience a strong plus.
• Financial Depth: Hands-on experience owning a P&L or managing a budget.
• People leadership: Track record building, developing, and, when needed, restructuring teams.
• Resourceful and hands-on: Comfortable working in the details of a small, lean business with no bench to lean on.
• Communication and client relationships: Confident with senior clients and skilled at translating technical realities into business terms.
• Data-driven mindset: Manages by KPIs and dashboards, comfortable working with imperfect data. Be specific: include metrics you owned or dashboards you built.
• SMB or senior leadership experience: Experience running or in senior leadership at a small or mid-sized business is a strong plus. So is a founder's mindset. If you've built something from scratch and know what it takes to make payroll, we want to hear about it.

This role is targeting a base compensation within the range of $200,000-$250,000 per year, plus bonus.
