The role designs and maintains scalable database solutions, improves information security through automation, optimizes data operations, and develops Python-based REST endpoints and microservices.\n\nResponsibilities\nDatabase Design & Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated database structures, ensuring high performance and scalability\nSecurity & Automation: Enhance information security through automated processes and continuous monitoring, leading the shift from manual to automated system security practices\nData Management & Optimization: Develop database parsers and loaders to optimize data management; provide subject matter expertise in tuning and optimizing an existing MongoDB implementation\nSoftware & Microservices Development: Build and test Python-based ReST endpoints and microservices using Django and Flask\nCollaboration & Operations: Collaborate on critical initiatives to streamline and secure data operations, create efficient workflows, and deliver timely solutions for system updates\n\nSkills\nAn active NSA TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph\nBachelor's degree in a technical field (or 5 years of equivalent Database Engineering experience)\n8+ years of Database Engineering experience on similar projects, with proven experience in a Database Engineer or related role\nProficiency in Python, MongoDB/MariaDB, Django/Flask, and microservices architecture\nDeep subject matter expertise in MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or similar document-oriented NoSQL database technologies, alongside strong foundational knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database design principles and practices\nUnderstanding of information security principles and practices\nExcellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team, and strong communication skills\nActive Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph\nAdvanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field\nProfessional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar\nExperience with Swagger, AWS/C2S, Docker, version control systems, and cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure)\nFamiliarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)\nPrevious experience working within the Intelligence Community or in national security roles\n\nCompany Overview\nThe M2 Technology Group team is composed of the finest cybersecurity professionals in the industry.
