An active Secret clearance is required.\nResponsibilities\nReports measurement results in actionable form to more senior personnel and management.\nConducts surveys, inspections, tours, etc. of client sites, as required.\nInstalls, configures, and maintains network services, equipment, and devices.\nWorks closely with field engineers to simulate expected system-level performance and provides quick feedback on potential improvements.\nAssists senior network engineers to identify and resolve network security issues.\nDevelops network designs for each SLA classification.\nOriginates design documents for small projects and in support of large programs.\nAssists senior engineers in preparation of designs, including narrative design documents, systems designs, and subsystem designs (CAD/panels/layouts/wiring/hardware/communications).\nPrepares specifications and performs QA/QC and technical reviews of designs.\nConducts comment resolution testing and commission review/approval of test plans (safety/risk/manufacturability).\nAuthors test plans.\nLeads and supervises testing activities.\nAuthors testing and commissioning procedures.\nPrepares test reports.\nCommissions deployed systems.\nDevelops test fixtures and simulation devices.\nGenerates standard PITCO plans and procedures.\nDesigns and performs complete system integration tests.\nTroubleshoots and debugs complex network problems and recommends operational efficiency improvements.\nPerforms preventative maintenance (software/hardware/firmware upgrades) including security updates, performance upgrades, and scheduled maintenance.\nOriginates and submits maintenance plans and provides rollback plans.\nServes as backup for team members during paid time off.\nPerforms hardware/software upgrades and replacements on existing systems.\nSupports a 24/7 on-call schedule.\nDocuments crucial working procedures and troubleshooting of network operations.\nEmploys moderate understanding of network administration as related to business operations.\nAssists team members in identifying and resolving basic/moderate network/telecom issues.\nInterprets and analyzes results versus established benchmarks and goals.\nWorks with project managers to meet expectations for network tasks.\nCompletes project tasks and assignments to meet project deadlines.\nContributes to own team and closely related teams through quality and accuracy of output.\nPerforms research on available technologies and products as needed by operations or project managers.\nPrepares cost estimates and supporting documents for projects.\nAssists senior engineers in preparation of bids and proposals, cost estimates, supporting documentation, and pricing of change orders.\nAssists in developing and adapting documents, procedures, and formal processes for the network engineering team to accomplish project planning (PKOM's and gate checks).\nCollaborates with other disciplines to define work and interfaces.\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\nSecret security clearance.\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or a related discipline and 7+ years of progressive experience.\nU.S. citizenship is required for this role.\nUnderstanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) concepts.\nUnderstanding of security issues and implications for network solutions.\nKnowledge of network concepts, technologies, tools, and philosophies, and the ability to design an organization's network infrastructure and services.\nKnowledge of system development methodology, project management, system architecture, and analytical/problem-solving skills.\nStrong oral, technical writing, and presentation skills.\nAbility to build productive relationships with team members, clients, and other network/system stakeholders.\nAbility to establish working relationships with others outside area of expertise.\nMust be able to balance high-quality standards with schedule pressures and a demanding environment.\nMust be a resourceful self-starter, flexible, proactive, solution-oriented, and customer-oriented.\nAbility to sit and be exposed to computer screens for extended periods of time.\nAbility to reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.\nFinger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole sense.\nAbility to identify and understand the speech of another person.\nPreferred Skills and Qualifications\nExperience reading network and connectivity schematics and plans.\nExperience with network system startup, configuration, and calibration.\nExperience with testing and troubleshooting.\nExperience with basic electrical and machinist hand tools.\nExperience with testing, calibration, or industry-specific tools and software (spectrum analyzer, cable tester, alignment tool).\nExperience with ticketing and monitoring toolsets.\nKnowledge of one or more IT/Network platforms, such as Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or Arista.\nExperience with standard network software (Visio, Wireshark, Putty, CLI, etc.).\nKnowledge of cybersecurity and STIG applications to network systems.\nFull-Time
