M9 Solutions is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to work onsite in support of a government contract for a client located in Taunton, MA. An active Secret clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Apply principles and techniques of electrical engineering to develop, test, and implement electrical components, equipment, and systems.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design, integration, and verification processes, as well as support technical reviews and root cause analysis.
- Work within defined processes and collaborate with project leaders, program managers, and external customers.
- Design and implement bare-metal firmware in C for ARM Cortex-M and other microcontroller architectures.
- Develop drivers and low-level interfaces for peripherals including SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and timer modules.
- Profile and optimize code for performance, power consumption, and memory constraints.
- Work closely with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product teams to translate requirements into firmware solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects.
- Team player committed to ongoing professional development for self and others.
- Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers (SWD, JTAG), and embedded testing frameworks to validate firmware functionality, preferred.

Salary Range
$60,000—$180,000 USD
