Our projects include anaerobic digesters, biogas-powered electric generation, and renewable natural gas upgrading.\nPosition Description\nMEW is seeking a highly motivated Programmer / Automation Technician to join our automation team to provide technical support and help to develop software solutions that support the growth and sustainability of renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate is reliable, is a self-starter, is a free thinker, and has an eye toward improvement, optimization, and security.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop software/hardware solutions to address the specific needs of renewable energy projects\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define project goals\nBasic control panel or cabinet design\nAssemble and install automation and networking cabinets\nConduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure software/hardware performance and reliability\nMaintain and support existing software applications, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise\nCollaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and create scalable software solutions\nAssist in maintaining backups of programs and changes\nAssist in maintaining documentation of new sites and changes to existing sites\nAssist in project tracking and documentation\nQualifications & Skills\nStrong experience as a Programmer (ex. Office work operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Field work operates in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, etc. Noise level may be loud at times and works around moving mechanical or construction equipment. Required personal protective equipment must be worn at all times in designated areas.\nPhysical Demands\nThis position requires travel to project and dairy sites. Site work requires the ability to walk and stand for extended periods on uneven ground, bend, stoop, kneel, reach overhead, and climb ladders and stairs. Must be able to move objects of at least 50 lbs., and use leg, abdominal, and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. This role also requires the ability to enter, travel in, and exit vehicles and airplanes.
