We offer senior-led execution, cross-border expertise and rigorous analysis through a lean platform built on client alignment, transparency and trust.\nThe program\nThe MACA Off-Cycle Internship is an 8-week educational program, run outside the summer in three windows each year - Winter (1 December - 15 February), Spring (1 March - 15 May) and Fall (1 September - 15 November), with windows open from Winter 2026-27 through Fall 2028 - and exact dates agreed with each participant, for students who want to understand how cross-border M&A advisory works in practice. It is built around a structured curriculum taught by the firm’s bankers, case work modeled on real transactions, and supervised observation of how our team runs mandates. The program is designed to complement your studies, and we work with universities to support academic credit where it is available.\nWhat you will learn\nFinancial modeling and valuation: comparable companies, precedent transactions and DCF, taught in weekly sessions and applied in case exercises\n\nHow a sell-side, buy-side or capital raise advisory process runs, from preparation to closing\n\nResearch methods for companies, sectors and comparable transactions using FactSet, Bloomberg, PitchBook and Capital IQ\n\nHow professional presentations, teasers and memos are structured and written\n\nLatin American M&A specifics, including country risk premia, FX considerations and how multiples compare with US and European benchmarks\n\nHow the program works\nA weekly training curriculum led by the firm’s bankers\n\nCase projects built on anonymized or past transactions, with written feedback on each\n\nObservation of team meetings and selected client calls, followed by debrief sessions on what was decided and why\n\nA designated mentor who reviews your work and meets with you each week\n\nA final case presentation to the firm’s partners, with a written evaluation at the close of the program\n\nWhat you bring\nCurrent enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in finance, economics, business or a related field, continuing through the window you select\n\nAn exceptional academic record (minimum GPA of 3.7 or equivalent)\n\nWorking knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and of accounting fundamentals\n\nCuriosity, care in the details and a willingness to ask questions\n\nFluency in Spanish and English (Portuguese required for Brazil-based participants)\n\nBased in a time zone between UTC-3 and UTC-6\n\nPreferred\nFamiliarity with Latin American and Caribbean markets\n\nCuriosity about how businesses in different sectors create value - we are a generalist firm\n\nWhat you take away\nPractical training in modeling, valuation and transaction process\n\nA body of case work you can discuss with confidence\n\nA mentor relationship with a working M&A banker\n\nA written evaluation and, on request, a reference\n\nParticipation in the program does not guarantee an offer of employment.
