We offer senior-led execution, cross-border expertise and rigorous analysis through a lean platform built on client alignment, transparency and trust.\nThe program\nThe MACA Summer Associate program is an educational program for MBA students who want to understand how cross-border M&A advisory works in practice. It runs each year from June to mid-August - 1 June to 13 August 2027, and 1 June to 11 August 2028. It is built around a structured curriculum taught by the firm’s bankers, case work modeled on real transactions, and supervised observation of how our team runs mandates. The program is designed to complement your MBA, and we work with business schools to support academic credit where it is available.\nWhat you will learn\nAdvanced financial modeling and valuation: comparable companies, precedent transactions, DCF and LBO, taught in weekly sessions and applied in case exercises\n\nHow a sell-side, buy-side or capital raise advisory process runs, from preparation to closing, and the judgments that shape it\n\nHow pitch materials, teasers and memos are structured, drafted and reviewed\n\nHow senior bankers prepare for and run client and counterparty meetings\n\nLatin American M&A specifics, including country risk premia, FX considerations and how multiples compare with US and European benchmarks\n\nHow the program works\nA weekly training curriculum led by the firm’s bankers\n\nCase projects built on anonymized or past transactions, with written feedback on each\n\nObservation of team meetings and selected client calls, followed by debrief sessions on what was decided and why\n\nA designated mentor who reviews your work and meets with you each week\n\nA final case presentation to the firm’s partners, with a written evaluation at the close of the program\n\nWhat you bring\nCurrent enrollment in an MBA or equivalent graduate business or finance program, with expected graduation in 2028 (2027 program) or 2029 (2028 program)\n\nTypically two to six years of work experience before your MBA\n\nStrong quantitative and financial modeling skills, and a solid grasp of accounting and valuation\n\nClear, concise written and spoken communication\n\nJudgment, care in the details and a willingness to ask questions\n\nFluency in Spanish and English (Portuguese required for Brazil-based participants)\n\nBased in a time zone between UTC-3 and UTC-6\n\nPreferred\nPre-MBA experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction services, corporate development, consulting or credit - career switchers with strong analytical skills are welcome\n\nFamiliarity with Latin American and Caribbean markets\n\nCuriosity about how businesses in different sectors create value, whatever your pre-MBA industry - we are a generalist firm\n\nWhat you take away\nPractical training in modeling, valuation and transaction process at a senior level\n\nA body of case work you can discuss with confidence\n\nA mentor relationship with a working M&A banker and direct exposure to the firm’s partners\n\nA written evaluation and, on request, a reference\n\nParticipation in the program does not guarantee an offer of employment.
