Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.\nAs Mace Consult’s Germany team continues to expand, we are searching for an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing team in Berlin. You will support us in delivering project objectives for our clients within time, cost and quality requirements, while coordinating with contractors and project stakeholders on-site. Initially, this role will support a hospitality fit-out project in Berlin, but future deployments could include a variety of our business sectors, as well as project locations across the region.\nNote: This role is based in Berlin.\nYou’ll be responsible for:\nWorking with the project team to manage the construction phase of our projects, including pre-construction preparations, as well as commissioning and handover to the client.\nManaging and coordinating construction activities on site performed by a general contractor or individual package contractors.\nManaging and recording site meetings, providing relevant parties with contextual information and analysis, including meetings with clients and external stakeholders.\nTracking construction progress on site, reviewing construction programmes and presenting construction activities in regular reports for the wider project team and the client.\nIdentifying, communicating and mitigating risks and issues that arise during the project.\nSupporting the commercial team in assessing validity of contractors’ payment applications.\nManaging quality on site, including identifying defects and coordinating their resolution.\nMonitoring and actively engaging in relevant health, safety and wellbeing aspects of projects.\nManaging and tracking project changes and ensuring they are processed and formalised within the agreed timeframes.\nCompiling and managing handover processes and documentation of works.\nYou’ll need to have:\nConstruction and/or project management experience; knowledge of construction methods (particularly fit-out) and understanding of scheduling, reporting and project finance.\nUnderstanding of relevant contractual frameworks (VOB or equivalent).\nProblem solving and analytical skills to address project issues.\nKnowledge of health, safety and wellbeing standards and best practices and appreciation of their importance in the context of construction projects.\nStrong communication skills for coordination with contractors on site and communicating progress and issues to the client and other stakeholders verbally, by email and as reports.\nExperience working with common project-related software, including MS Project and the MS Office suite, as well as systems for tracking changes and defects (e.g. PlanRadar, BIM360).\nProficient in English and German.\nDegree/tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (project management and/or construction-related field), or non-related degree or equivalent professional experience/apprenticeship, combined with a demonstrable intermediate level of role knowledge.\nOur values\nSafety first - Going home safe and well: We champion a safe, diverse and inclusive working environment, understanding the importance of wellbeing in every team.\nClient focus - Deliver on our promise: We own the quality of deliverables, strategic outcomes and build long term relationships with our clients.\nIntegrity - Always do the right thing: We influence positive outcomes within our industry, while always aligning with our compliance obligations.\nCreate opportunity - For our people to excel: We champion a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities, inspiring our people and teams to develop.\nMace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
