As Project Engineer you will provide comprehensive technical support to the Network Rail project team, principally relate to either Civil and geotech, Electrification & Plant, Signalling or Telecommunications. You will be responsible for validating project specific proposals, plans, programmes, sequences, etc. and verify compliance with the project brief, specifications, regulatory and Mace internal requirements. Provides line/functional management of the engineering team deployed to the specific project.\nYou’ll be responsible for:\nChecking design output to ensure information is clear, achievable, buildable, conforms to preferred methods and is available to enable efficient procurement and construction of the works. \nCarrying out role of temporary works coordinator. \nDeveloping and implementing project specific dimensional control strategy. \nEnsuring that company & project quality requirements procedures are implemented. Interprets as-built surveys / installations are checked prior to construction of follow-on activities. \nManaging the production of quality assurance information. \nProviding leadership and comprehensive technical expertise to the project technical team. \nTechnical aspects of project/s including innovations and technical developments. \nIdentifying and implementing continuous improvement plans, identifies key project and quality improvements. \nWorking collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.\nYou’ll need to have:\nChartered engineer or equivalent experience.\nKnowledge of the operational railway and railway infrastructure.\nA specialism in either Civil and geotech, Electrification & Plant, Signalling or Telecommunications. \nDemonstrable experience of delivering projects in a Network Rail environment.\nRegistered PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent.\nPrevious successful experience working within network rail asset protection.\nAble to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.\nAble to demonstrate team leadership qualities including mentorship and development.\nDemonstrable ability to constructively challenge the ideas of others and make clear decisions.\nUnderstanding of project commercial requirements and programme controls in the rail industry.\nDemonstrable experience of health, safety & environmental requirements including CDM Regulations and CSM-RA with knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice.\nIn depth knowledge of GRIP.\nKnowledge of project management methodology and lifecycles.\nKnowledge of investment, commercial and procurement practices.\nCompetent in accident investigation.\nExperience working in a Client side or Consulting role. \nMace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
