Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.\nThe Senior Project Procurement Specialist is responsible for planning, managing and delivering a portfolio of procurement activities and contracts across a major infrastructure programme. Working closely with commercial, project and stakeholder teams, you will develop procurement strategies, lead tendering and negotiation activities, and ensure the timely delivery of procurement projects in line with programme objectives, governance requirements and applicable procurement legislation.\nThe role requires strong stakeholder management, commercial awareness and market engagement experience, alongside the ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously. You will support the delivery of best-value outcomes, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and provide guidance to junior procurement professionals.\nYou’ll be responsible for:\nDirecting and managing a portfolio of procurement projects from strategy development through to contract award.\nDeveloping and implementing procurement strategies aligned with programme and business objectives.\nManaging tendering, supplier selection and contract award processes in compliance with relevant legislation and internal governance requirements.\nManaging or supporting complex commercial negotiations alongside project and commercial teams.\nBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and supply chain partners.\nConducting market analysis and supplier engagement activities to understand market trends, risks and opportunities.\nSupporting category management initiatives and the development of effective commercial and contracting strategies.\nEnsuring procurement risks are identified, managed and reported appropriately.\nMaintaining accurate procurement records, reporting and governance documentation.\nSupporting contract administration activities, including variations, extensions and supplier performance management.\nContributing to continuous improvement initiatives and procurement best practice across the programme.\nMentoring and supporting junior procurement professionals, helping to develop capability within the wider team.\nEnsuring compliance with procurement legislation, company policies and delegated authority requirements.\nYou’ll need to have:\nProven procurement experience within major infrastructure, construction, utilities or capital programmes.\nStrong knowledge of public sector and/or regulated procurement environments, including relevant UK procurement legislation.\nExperience leading end-to-end procurement activities and managing complex supply chain relationships.\nCommercially astute with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.\nExperience developing procurement strategies, category plans and commercial models.\nExcellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced project environment.\nOur values\nSafety first - Going home safe and well: We champion a safe, diverse and inclusive working environment, understanding the importance of wellbeing in every team.\nClient focus - Deliver on our promise: We own the quality of deliverables, strategic outcomes and build long term relationships with our clients.\nIntegrity - Always do the right thing: We influence positive outcomes within our industry, while always aligning with our compliance obligations.\nCreate opportunity - For our people to excel: We champion a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities, inspiring our people and teams to develop.\nMace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
