In this deputy chief engineer role, you’ll help teams identify and resolve cross-program interfaces, communicate technical decisions, and keep engineering work aligned. This is a hands-on growth role for someone with 2-3 years of experience, not a traditional senior aerospace chief engineer position. You’ll work closely with experienced technical leaders and build a broad understanding of how complex hardware programs fit together.\nKey Responsibilities\nCoordinate engineering interfaces and dependencies across programs and disciplines.\nHelp teams communicate requirements, assumptions, design changes, and technical decisions.\nTrack cross-program risks, open questions, and action items; help drive them to resolution.\nSupport technical reviews, integration planning, and program-level engineering discussions.\nIdentify conflicts or gaps between subsystem designs and bring the right people together to resolve them.\nPrepare clear technical summaries and maintain interface and decision documentation.\nBuild working relationships across engineering, manufacturing, test, and program teams.\nSupport critical project milestones, including extended hours or weekends when needed.\nRequired Qualifications \n2-3 years of experience in engineering, technical program integration, or a related field.\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nStrong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to make technical information clear to different audiences.\nAbility to work across teams, follow through on open issues, and manage competing priorities.\nInterest in complex hardware development and cross-disciplinary engineering.\nPreferred Qualifications \nExperience supporting hardware development, systems integration, or engineering program reviews.\nFamiliarity with CAD, engineering documentation, or requirements and interface tracking.\nExperience working with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-moving environment.\nAdditional Requirements\nAvailable to work extended hours and weekends as needed.\nITAR Requirements\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
