We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.\nThe Role\nWe are seeking a hands-on EHS Compliance Specialist to help manage day-to-day safety and environmental activities across our growing operations. This person will spend significant time in the field conducting inspections, checking conditions, and working with employees. They will also keep regulatory obligations organized and on schedule. The role will work closely with the Site Safety Manager, operations teams, and outside agencies. A practical safety background is important, but the main focus is following through on permits, inspections, records, submissions, and corrective actions.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintain a compliance calendar for permits, renewals, inspections, training, reporting, and recurring submissions. Track deadlines and follow each item through completion.\nMaintain records and update required information in regulatory systems, including CERS, as applicable to the facility and its operations.\nSupport compliance activities involving CUPA, CalARP, ATF, fire authorities, DCMA, and other agencies relevant to our sites.\nCoordinate agency visits and inspections, prepare requested records, accompany inspectors on site, document findings, and track responses and corrective actions.\nEstablish and carry out daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual site inspection schedules. Document findings and follow up until issues are resolved.\nInspect work areas, chemical and hazardous-material storage, hazardous-waste areas, emergency equipment, and selected PPE and respiratory-protection equipment.\nHelp maintain chemical inventories, container labeling, safety data sheets, and Hazard Communication records.\nCoordinate with hazardous-waste vendors and support waste documentation, including manifests and shipment records.\nAssist the Site Safety Manager with training schedules, training delivery, attendance records, and refresher requirements.\nWork with employees, contractors, and vendors to address compliance or safety concerns identified in the field.\nKeep records accurate, organized, and readily available for internal reviews and agency inspections. Escalate concerns that need a technical or management decision.\nRequired Qualifications \nExperience in EHS, regulatory compliance, environmental programs, or a related role in an industrial setting.\nAbility to interpret requirements, manage multiple deadlines, maintain accurate records, and follow open items through completion.\nExperience conducting site inspections and documenting findings and corrective actions.\nWorking knowledge of chemical handling, labeling, Hazard Communication, or hazardous-waste practices.\nConfidence communicating with field personnel, management, vendors, and agency representatives.\nComfortable working independently both in the field and at a computer.\na minimum amount of years of experience (i.e. 1-2+ years of hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) or industrial safety experience in manufacturing, aerospace, heavy industry, chemical processing, construction, test operations, energy, or a similar industrial environment.)\nHigh school diploma or GED required. Associate degree, technical/trade education, or coursework in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Fire Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.\nPreferred Qualifications \nExperience with CUPA, CERS, CalARP, ATF, DCMA, or fire authority inspections and submissions.\nFamiliarity with DoD 4145 requirements, energetics, propellants, or aerospace test operations.\nHazardous-material or hazardous-waste management experience, including vendor coordination and manifests.\nOSHA 10 or OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, and CPR/First Aid/AED training.\nAdditional Requirements\nAvailable to work extended hours and weekends as needed\nThis role includes frequent walking and standing at active industrial sites, including outdoor work in direct sun, heat, cold, wind, dust, and uneven terrain.\nIt also requires regular computer work for tracking, submissions, reporting, and recordkeeping.\nRequired training and PPE will be provided for assigned duties.\nAbility to lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds as needed to support safety equipment, PPE, emergency-response equipment, inspections, and other field activities.\nAbility to regularly walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, and work on uneven surfaces for extended periods while performing field-based safety activities.\nITAR Requirements\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
