We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.\nThe Role\nThe Logistics Specialist is a highly organized and detail-oriented professional responsible for supporting Mach Industries’ domestic and international logistics operations. This role will coordinate the movement of hardware, materials, equipment, and demonstration assets across commercial, government, and military-related programs while ensuring shipments are executed safely, on time, and in compliance with applicable trade, transportation, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced defense startup environment, managing complex international shipments, working directly with freight forwarders and customs brokers, and supporting Business Development activities including tradeshows, demonstrations, and customer events. This position requires strong knowledge of shipping documentation, tariff classification, export/import processes, and defense-industry logistics requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nCoordinate and execute domestic and international shipments by air, ocean, ground, and courier, including time-critical and high-value defense hardware.\nManage end-to-end international logistics, including freight bookings, routing, pickup coordination, customs clearance, delivery tracking, and final-mile execution.\nPrepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, certificates of origin, shipper’s letters of instruction, and other import/export documentation.\nDetermine and validate HTS/HS and Schedule B tariff classifications; support country-of-origin, valuation, duty, tax, and customs documentation requirements.\nSupport export compliance activities involving ITAR, EAR, AES/EEI filings, Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), export licenses, exemptions/exceptions, and recordkeeping requirements in coordination with Trade Compliance.\nCoordinate temporary exports and imports for Business Development demonstrations, tradeshows, customer events, field tests, and international deployments, including ATA Carnets and other temporary-import mechanisms when applicable.\nPartner with Business Development, Engineering, Program Management, Security, Trade Compliance, and Operations to develop logistics plans for events, demonstrations, and customer deliveries.\nCoordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, airlines, ocean carriers, and overseas agents to resolve transportation, documentation, and customs issues.\nSupport packaging, preservation, labeling, and marking requirements for government and military shipments, including familiarity with applicable MIL-STD requirements such as MIL-STD-2073 and MIL-STD-129, as well as ASTM D3951 when contractually required.\nEnsure shipments comply with applicable hazardous materials and dangerous goods requirements, including 49 CFR, IATA/ICAO, and IMDG regulations, as applicable.\nSupport government and defense contract logistics requirements, including familiarity with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, EAR, and customer-specific shipping instructions or contract clauses.\nMaintain shipment records, export/import documentation, proof of delivery, tracking data, and audit-ready files in accordance with company and regulatory retention requirements.\nIdentify logistics risks, shipment delays, customs holds, documentation gaps, and routing constraints; proactively communicate issues and drive resolution.\nDevelop and improve standard work, carrier processes, shipping documentation, and international logistics workflows to support Mach’s continued growth.\nOperate forklifts and other approved material-handling equipment as needed to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight, equipment, and program assets.\nSupport other Logistics, Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse, Material Handling, and Operations functions as needed to meet program schedules, shipment deadlines, and changing business priorities.\nRequired Qualifications \n3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, international shipping, import/export operations, or supply chain management.\nWorking knowledge of HTS/HS and Schedule B tariff classifications, customs documentation, country of origin, and commercial invoice requirements.\nWorking knowledge of U.S. export/import regulations and processes, including ITAR, EAR, AES/EEI, and Foreign Trade Regulations.\nExperience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and international logistics providers.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Workspace and experience maintaining shipment records, reports, and logistics documentation.\nAbility to function effectively in a fast-paced defense startup environment and support occasional after-hours or event-driven logistics requirements.\nWillingness and flexibility to support cross-functional logistics and warehouse activities outside primary responsibilities when operational needs are required.\nPreferred Qualifications \nExperience supporting aerospace, defense, government, or military logistics operations.\nFamiliarity with ATA Carnets, temporary imports/exports, bonded movements, and international customs procedures.\nKnowledge of MIL-STD-2073, MIL-STD-129, ASTM D3951, or other U.S. Government packaging, preservation, marking, and shipping requirements.\nKnowledge of hazardous materials/dangerous goods transportation requirements, including 49 CFR, IATA/ICAO, and IMDG.\nFamiliarity with FAR, DFARS, government contract clauses, Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR), or Military Freight Traffic Unified Rules Publication (MFTURP-1).\nAdditional Requirements\nAvailable to work extended hours and weekends as needed\nITAR Requirements\nTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
